Footsteps
I see my footsteps in the sand
And now that I am falling
Blades come out to slash my soul
And harsh words, mouths are calling
But you're my rock in these harsh seas
I'm anchored by your smile
It eases the strain on my mind
Just to sit with you a while
One day I'll make this up to you
I promise on my life
You've made this journey bearable
You've helped me through this strife

And if I were to stumble
You'll be there to steady me
Unassuming; smiling: humble
And now that I am falling

Reasons To Believe
Give me a reason to believe
Not a miracle
That's not what I ask
But a reason
A glimmer of light
A spark of hope
A reason
I've always known
That life's a bitch and then you die
But never before has it been so true
Than now
Kick me when I'm down
Why don't you?
'Cause everyone else is
One more wouldn't hurt
You can use a straw to break my back
But I wouldn't notice
'Cause everything else is already shattered
I see no glimmer
No spark to relight my flame
I've lost all faith;
The little I had

Supernova
A manic frenzy inside my chest
It threatens to bubble over
And when it does I lose control
My mind goes supernova
I hate this sense of helplessness
This pure humiliation
And knowing they can sense it all
Is fueling my frustration

Who'll Be Missed?
Never noticed, on my own
I'm always in their shadow
No eyes shall turn my way
And where they lead I follow
"Sweet Rosaline!", nay, "Juliet!"
It changes every day
And him; more than I care to count
Have noting in his way
To them I'm no more than a slave
To kneel at their command
A hindrance holding them both back
An irritating brand
Well listen, both of you, to me
I'll take no more of this
I'm leaving - never coming back
And then we'll see who's missed
Obviously it won't be me
But what...

Paintings of Perfection
Can you see the picture?
Can you see what's there?
Can you see the image
Which to the world, they share
And can you see the fault lines
The cracks in their façades
Because underneath the paintings
Their images are marred
This is their "perfection"
Behind which they cower
Take away their projection
And you take away their power
They're not real people
Just images we see
So why aspire to be like them
When an image, you cannot be
Can you see what's there?
Can you see the image
Which to the world, they share
And can you see the fault lines
