Why do I write? I suffer from depression in the form of Bipolar disorder, writing helps to get the inside stuff outside and onto the page. When I am down I write, when I am up I draw and paint. It all helps.....

Love paid for.....
I've paid for love through many years
Of broken dreams and falling tears
It seems as though I'm paying still
When will you ever have your fill
For years atop your lofty throne
While worker bees around you drone
They give and give, and still you take
Then drown upon your honeyed lake
So, in another one does fly
From freedom of the bluest sky
Just looking for a lifelong mate
Not knowing it has sealed it's fate
You smile and take all it can give
For as it dies so shall you live
You bled it from it's deepest core
And...

It's suicide by percentages
Self mutilation by degree
Deny their intervention
Leave the decision up to me
Keep your lines and needles
And your clinical decor
Save your phony bedside manner
While I show myself the door
Why not save your vicious cocktail
For those who want to live
For those that have a purpose
And have something left to give
I choose to leave with dignity
With honour and good grace
And my grip upon this medal
Having run this human race
To those left still to battle on
Who'd rather stand and...

The insecurities of man
The insecurities of man.......... This man has his own deep rooted insecurities.....They surface at times that can be inapropriate ...... They alter sleeping patterns, and switch his mind into overdrive.....Aside from his troubles as a kid there are other things that have been said and done over the years.....Hurtful vicious words that leave scars long after physical assaults have healed....Words that were used to denegrate and to make him seem worthless, he was called by anothers name by his first wife....Just weeks before the birth of his second child.....All the time he was being compared...

She and He
She sits alone and waits to hear
The key unlock the door
Then greets him with a frantic kiss
She couldn't love him more
She knows he loves her more than life
Even though at times she's bad
She feels inside when he is down
She's the best he's ever had
He can't imagine life alone
Though one day it will end
No more to see her smiling eyes
He'll lose his greatest friend
Until such time to say goodbye
Right at his side she'll stay
While in his heart her home shall be

Out of sight
Out of sight is out of mind
You never look, you never find
Just go through life as if you're blind
Coz out of sight is out of mind
As the saying goes, it's all about you
Your wants, your needs, your wishes come true
Who cares if your selfishness colours me blue
Everybody must know, it's all about you
No care what I think, so I'm out in the cold
You shall have your own way, or so I am told
Will it always be thus, even as I grow old
Where my views and opinions, are out in the cold
Just keep heaping it on, how much more can I take...

Silted Bed
Tired eyes tinged with blood
A twisted soul concealed inside
Chained and tied beneath the flood
Grasping upwards in search of breath
Choking, drowning, slowly falls
Welcomed by murky darkness below
Black water rushing, filling lungs
Their weight an anchor
Hold me fast on this silted bed
Bitter liquid sleep invades every pore
Forbidding me to cry no more
A final flash of blinding light
As I awaken back to life's sorrows
With linen sheets drenched by fearful dread
This empty cradle of my bed
More waking moments may fill the day
And...

Torn Asunder
A world of pain is in my head
Inside my brain it travels
While razor scissors snip away
As all my dreams unravel
No way to turn, the route is barred
As through this maze I stumble
I blindly feel along the walls
My world begins to crumble
Upon my knees I plead for help
But no-one here this day
A shadow glimpsed yet far ahead
Now turning, walks away
Thus left once more to weep alone
As life goes on around
The damp cold earth I fall upon
My bed that is the ground
Just leave me here to grieve for you
As skies are ripped with...

Velvet Darkness
Velvet darkness bleeds in from the dark recesses of my mind
Silencing thought for a moment, alone, I am overpowered by demanding memories
Repeating words long since whispered, a memorial of times past
The bleached whitened bones of experience pierce my parchment skin
leaving me speechless from one last shock
There are no words to express this sensation, this physical and emotional suffering
My body recoils from the pain, I am untouched and wounded at once
Tears drip freely, from eyes grown weary from crying
Over and over again, to no end
The bleeding never...

I Am
I am one with nothing more to give
I am unheard, no words from my lips
I am the deadened empty husk
I am the broken heart of life's romance
I am the seed that will not grow
I am untended , withered fruit on the vine
I am the un-worked field, furrows hardened by burning sun
I am the artist's unfinished work, propping up the garret walls
I am the unread love letter, burned in the fire grate
I am the man collapsed, stepped over by uncaring folk
I am the silent nightmarish scream, from the dreaming child
I am alone, alone, alone.

Come The Carrion
Constant depression, where fear and hate feed
In such lonely moments, with a want and a need
with infinite seconds, that stretch into years
Down reflectionles face, fall invisible tears
look to the horizon, throw your eyes to the sky
Come the carrion calling, as you ask yourself why
Compose your own saga, where life falls into place
Then gone as a mirage, never leaving a trace
See her image in dreams, before fading from view
Hear her voice on the wind, as she's calling for you
as you scream for her help, from the blackest of night
Feel her hand...

Empty Garden
A wooden bench, an empty garden
Enclosed within a high stone wall
A single figure in the corner
Sits waiting for his love to call
Long past the two were here together
So tightly held, enmeshed as one
A gardens bright and vibrant beauty
Now colour drained and almost gone
With footsteps heard off in the distance
Then nearing, closer comes the sound
As hopes are dashed again the silence
He bows his head down to the ground
In solitude he sits there waiting
Of futile love he yearns, he dreams
Another day without his soulmate
Connections...
