Anima
A princess of chance with a chalice full of dreams,
slight of hand and soft kisses aided your advances.
Your velvet toned skin;
sparkling beneath the rain veiled street lamps
as your ivory hips gave chase.
Hair heavy from the fall,
showing your ears through the gaps as you craned your neck to smile.
Teeth bright. Jaw slight,
as you grabbed my hand to lead the way.

Looking for Love
My eyes and ears are plagued by sickly sweet jealousies,
be patient, sweet lady of the night
I'll lay eyes on yours and dream of the eternity that rests within them
and forget all about my painful beginnings one day.
Until that day I shall be a slave to the shadow in my heart.

Death
Don't deny yourself death,
the last and only remaining solitude,
left to us as a gift from the gods.
Windows and doors locked, blinds drawn,
taking refuge in the bathroom,
sitting on the edge of the bath hiding from death,
poised..
Fashionably early or late,
this Angel with the crimson lips and long skinny fingers
that twinkle as she waves to you through the crowd.
Born feared, raised to be perfect.
On your knees, fenced in, castrated
the price of perfection.
Draining life from the eyes and lips and...

Life
What so this is how this thing works?..
One day I wake up and the postmen and the teachers
and the conductors all look my age,
younger,
maybe I'm just older.
So i'm expected to work in a job that's going to kill me?
smoke on my breaks and make crude jokes about women I've slept with over shitty coffee and stale croissants.
The single mothers even look my age, but some things never change.
Where are you going?.. What are you doing?..
I'm an example now.
I thought I always was?..

You arrested me on a dance floor in the centre of town.
Slight of hand and soft kisses aided your advances.
The sexy drunken stumble and child like smile you sported
gave me butterflies that I'm yet to shake off.
The stars giggled through hushes tones as they saw us leave

A ruby red dash of sunlight on her cheeks
as she throws back her head for tomorrows unfurls.
Hair caught on the wind's whisper of a secret
belonging to the night.
Shoulders fall in silken style,

I tore my throat screaming after loneliness.
She glided in military formation,
black dress dancing in the wind toward the hills.
On the precipice of falling out of sight,
she turned to wave goodbye
and a single tear invaded my cheek as she disappeared forever.

Heart ache settled in the stomach,
food has no right of passage.
Her darkened beauty lays outstretched beneath the stars,
lost her shoes, lost her way, lost the light that guides the way.
Gaze out of the window, remember her skin, the drunken grass patch
on the knee of her jeans from her first bottle of under age wine.
It glistened in the deep sunshine of her eyes, she clung to the

Locomotive night, tick tock tick tock-
We've gotta catch her,
chasing the distant silhouette of her running away
towards the laughter,
forever young.

Thoughts and Dreams
Boredom hath bested my weary soul once more.
I light a cigarette to create another smoky air of mystery
in this Shakespearian play I fool myself into believing my
life has become.
Hope, the sin of all sins inevitably leaves me stricken at
the wrong end of a tragedy.
Love used to be my saving grace but once more it does
elude me, oh Anima!
I think about poets of young and old and they depress me,
they transcend my talent, meagre as it is in every department
..but Ginsberg, Kerouac and their trusted lieutenants
always...

Night
We salute the night in it's overt passion to clothe
the pleasure seekers.
Laying guise to our weaknesses so we can run free!
As the flowers sleep and hotels weep your freshly polished face
is on the cusp of something beautiful that never comes to light.
A cigarette butt laying in a pool of your tears reflect
memories that burn like the stars you hold so dear.
Whiskey and wine scented breath baying at the moon,
remembering the good times hand in hand with the scantily clad fads we...
the pleasure seekers.

Mechanical echo, a tunnel like clap
as I thumb your mirrored button.
Your keywork gloves with your cylinder of ink,
Spiralling, showing off your sharper, dark sided defence.
Decals of light shine down your metallic satin
business like gown
in spotlight towards the well where
your blue blood veins sleep.
Awoken by the smell of paper stories
of heroes slaying dragons,
Chinese money launderers living the American dream,
the homelessness of night and loves messy art.
You never discriminste,
Making me bare...
