POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I have a fondness for narrative verse --narrative poets such as Chaucer, Coleridge, Longfellow, Tennyson, Burns, Noyes, Lear, Nash, Carroll, D'Arcy, Kipling, Moore, and Service. The stories they tell are good and made better by the poetic form they use.
I am sorry

Sorry
So, you want me to say --
"I'm sorry that I wrote about you in my poem."
OK. I guess I owe you that.
Maybe more.
I admit it was you,
I was thinking of,
when I wrote it.
Admittedly, it was your mouth,
I was picturing,
covering with my mouth,
your tongue,
my tongue was playing with.
Yes, it was your legs,
I was writing about,
caressing with my hands,
entwining with my legs.

When last I saw you
We parted with a pat from me on your butt
and a kiss from you on my cheek.
I expected more than that kiss then,
and, bluntly, I expected more now than,
"What do I think of the weather?"
Because, frankly, it's a bit chilly.
No, I didn't get around to fixing your internet access.
Something else came up.
If you remember.
Still can't access the internet,
and you want me to come by
and see what I can do?
Is the broadband box still on the top shelf?
You remember what happened
when I tried to reach...

no coffee for me
Saturday morning's 10,000 step exercising walk.
Cool out,
not cold,
with a hope for heat a few steps ahead.
Dressed in sweats,
shoes with no socks,
quick to remove.
Already firm,
remembering walks before.
Paper on the walk, taken to the door, and more.
Thanked on the floor, on the sofa, against the wall, and more.
Fingers fondling.
Hands holding.
Mouths milking.
Tongues tasting.
Teeth toying.
Bodies bending.

I'll tell you
I'll tell you what you were.
You were a notch on my bed post,
locker room bragging rights.
You were a cunt to receive my dick,
a receiver of my wet dream's emissions.
You were a blonde to follow the redhead,
not as good as the brunet.
You were way too short, barely up to my chin,
not fun size at all.
Your boobs were so small, most boys have more,
couldn't fill a training bra.
You were skinny, arms bony and legs gangly,
all skeletal angles...

at Lucky's
OK.
See.
This is what happened.
I was in the Lucky Store.
Jeans shopping.
Overheard these two girls,
store employees,
chatting,
giggling,
pointing with their eyes.
Whispered one,
"Baggy boxers."
Retorted the other,
"Nah, tighty whities."
Looked around.
I'm the only customer.
Said I,
"What does the winner win?"
"And what does the loser give up?"

She was a witch
I'd known she was a witch from the second day of our acquaintance.
(We met via an outline older men and younger women dating site.)
We'd been online friends for more than a decade.
She was divorced, I was in a sexless marriage.
Yes, there had been online sex--
the usual:
stripping (sometimes to music),
posing,
exploring/displaying for each other's eyes,
every form of auto-eroticism...

Double strip
Of course I'm looking,
isn't that's why you wear that push-up?
Sure, you look too,
no, it's not padded with a sock.
If you would bend over just a bit,
I would have a much better view.
Squeeze them together a bit,
very nice nipple show.
Thank you.
Yes, they make a "push-up" for a guy to wear.
your eyes go there just like mine go where they go.
How much is "pushed-up"?
Same question back at you.
OK, this is now a,
"If you show me yours,
I'll show you mine."
Not here, but where? ...

Great man, behind a great woman
Great man, behind a great woman
we'd been acquainted for a while
not friends, really
just said "Hi" in passing on campus
sometimes "Nice weather today."
or "Saw a great movie last weekend."
not really friendship
she was money
her kids attended the school
15 grand a year each
she had 4 enrolled
I was a school employee
their tuition bill was more than my salary
she was 6 foot several inches
blond hair, tanned...

Dressed for the Party
dressed for the party
she as a witch --black hat, gauzy veil, long black gown, sandals (the usual)
me as a ghost --bed sheet, holes cut out for eyes, sandals (the usual)
what you see is all we wore --that was part of the turn on
her bosom bounced as she walked (just a bit)
I pushed the sheet out in front (just a bit)
around the block we strolled
we hoped some would notice --that was part of the turn on
my arm around her waist (pulling her close)
her arm around my hips (pulling me near)
up the walk we walked ...

flanel
a chilly fall night
wore new flannel pjs to bed rather than my usual nothing
didn't notice she had put on new flannel sheets
when I was a kid, teachers used flannel boards in the classroom,
small flannel cutouts that adhered to a board covered with flannel,
used to tell stories or illustrate lessons
the lesson I failed to learn then,
was that
flanel adheres to flannel
as I rolled over, waiting for her to come to bed,
I was quickly cocooned in sheets
as I tried to unroll the cocoon,
I was wrapped more snuggly
soon,...

her first time
you invited me in
in through the door
into your room
into your arms
into your bed
into you . . .
wait, wait, let's go back bit
you invited me in
met at Starbucks
shared a love for coffee --black, unsweet
split a brownie
talked of this and that
liked what we saw and the little that we shared
it was raining
offered you a ride
bench seat
you sat close
hand on my knee --higher
hand on your thigh --higher

what began as ogling
what began as ogling, quickly became lust
it was craven lechery when first I met you
lewdness formed my thoughts
yearning thirst controlled my desires
at my core was an animalistic want for you
in my eyes you saw wantonness surveying your body
my grin delivered carnality's promise to your core
in my lustfulness, i saw your body's sensuality
i fantasized your uninhibitedness
my thoughts communicated in raunchiness
debauchery formed my dreams intent
my words were ribaldry gone pornographic
what had been lust
what was born of...
