Poet Introduction
My outlook reflects my writing; make haste but don't hurry. I don't think of myself as a poet. That claim does little for me. I like to think I am working on obtaining that title.

Giving Up The Game
The multitude of men that you have to chose from
suggest that a pick up line is a strike out already done
does a man really need to say what his eyes have already digested
and send that back in a worn out verbal game?
The dress, the hosiery, the perfume, and we can't forget the smile
we act as if we haven't a clue
about the effort intentionally spent
with at least a second motive in attracting a suitor's interest
What should be the real design is
a personality that stands apart
not being the ordinary horny crazed lizard
with blood all...

Id and Ego
From the moment I first spoke your name
my thoughts have been of two minds
still not able to leave either behind
There is what they call the reptilian brain
contains all dirty thoughts and designs
if it was released fully
you would be leaving me far behind
The other a bit more noble
wants to show how appreciative I am of your time
this brain thinks even a kiss held too long
could be an indecent crime
Temptation to journey all over your body
is stimulated by your sexy figure
can't blame a guy I hope
when you activate...

What Goes On In My Brain
The Summer of Prednisone is coming to end
loved weather but that wicked steroid
I am so happy to say "au revoir" to!
Dreams turned into nightmares
daycare kids being dropped into the La Brea Tar Pits
from an airplane while yours truly tried in vain
a rescue while wearing Superman's cape
Another nightmare featured
friends have have be reacquainted with
via Facebook at a bumper car rink
the music would stop and the friend in the middle
would disappear as a bomb would descend
and take them out
Perhaps being bipolar...

Jardin Secreto
Have I found a key
and played a proper part
apples aligned and placed proper in the cart
an opening to your secret garden
Did you abandon normal restraint
a sense of the rewards so serene
robust ardor and euphoric sheen
inside your secret garden
Silky attire and eye appealing color
reveal the contours you have best
forsaking other suitor as if there had been a test
exclusive existence in you secret garden
Regret is outlawed in practice
the draw a most resounding sound
matters not the audience some or none around...

Time The Only Lifeline
These are the days of the open hand
they will not be the last
look around now
these are the days of the beggars and the choosers"
It is perceived the open door will hold
what bill of goods were you sold
those that will end up in the cold
even the greatest in time will have to fold
"This is the year of the hungry man
whose place is in the past
hand in hand with ignorance
and legitimate excuses"
Take a sedative and wash away
get though another day
is that a price we all must pay
no sentiment for those...
they will not be the last

Not A Solo Walk
The sum of my message is found in one place
to be delivered with the height of intense thoughts
nothing that can be taught, sold,
bargained or even be caught
organic and straight from the source
stimulated by what you do so well
and if everything goes like the dreams
what lovely memories I never could sale
the ships don't merely pass in the night
but engage in an exchange with mutual joy
that intimate intersection
where one need not be coy
so as I stroll down a path by myself
in my mind I am not alone
for in your good will and grace...

A Poem May Not Work
Sometimes you try to reach someone not nearby
to express something that is real
even just to say "hello friend"
genuine expression of how you feel
Yet no recognition is sent in return
as if you addressed a rock
the only sound heard
is the tick of the clock
So you decide he/she is not one for poetry
not a response do you earn
silence is golden
that much can be discerned
Not that you thought you could encapsulate
all of was intended in the lines
but hoping to generate something
must have been blind
...
to express something that is real
even just to say "hello friend"

That It Always Seems To Be Wasted Time
The eight track player doesn't work, the Smith Corona doesn't work,
the internet may be down and doesn't respond, the 72 Malibu may not start
the gas fueled land mower may not start and the brain may not act right
but these annoyances have remedies; a little tinkering has them going
one thing is permanently dysfunctional and we all suffer
and its called the United States Congress
now this isn't overtly political for both parties share the blame
a devolution that is perpetuated for interests
that have nothing to do with democracy
While growing...
