A note to my Best Friend
I haven't talked to you today.
I miss you.
I especially miss the way we used to be.
The way it was before things got so complicated, so far out of hand.
I heard a song on the radio today that you were excited to share with me and it made me smile. I mean really big, sun parting the clouds smile. Remember that cheesy pick up line you laid on me about me smiling and the sun coming out?
That big.
The very next song made me laugh to myself because of our frequent discussion of it.
I miss you.
Enough to cry only I don't.
Whenever I'm about to I...

Baby it's hot outside
It's hot so lets walk.
Watch me swim in cool clear waters.
Let me guide you from stream to rock.
Hold my hand and trust in me.
It's hot so lets run a fools errand.
We'll go in search of happiness.
I know we'll find it up so high I'll have to stand on the tips of my toes to reach it.
It's hot, but I'm no through with you yet.
I want desperately to continue on, but you have other obligations no matter my opinions.
It's hot so I guess I'll see you on the other side.

Mama, I love you.
I know I'm only 27, but I've never met anyone who can make words sting as much as you. It's amazing and I still can't figure out why I need your approval so badly. I know I'll never get it though. We are two adults who will always be mother and daughter. I will never be anything else to you. How can we ever make this work without me being a horrible child? I see no other solution. I would never perceive you as a bad guy. It will always only ever be me. Such a disappointment right? And ungrateful? And selfish?

In Him For Me
For me he will have infinite strength, poise, and power.
He will be classy, intelligent, and comforting.
He'll know when I need him to rescue me and when to back the fuck up.
He will always want me, even on days when my mind gets the better of me.
He will choose me before other women who are not tied to him by their six angel's red string of fate.
He will be my best friend and lover.
He will love me and be in love with me.
All those things he will want and receive from me as well.

Is it possible?
The body is visceral and it knows what it wants. It sometimes will see reason and communicate with the brain. The heart is an irrational fool that never consults with any other part of your being. How is it possible to get the brain, body, and heart moving in the same direction? Is it even possible? Two people in my life convinced me at one point that it was. The first left me hurting in the end. The second leaves me in a constant state of confusion. One day it's option A with him. The next it's option B. I want to feel inspired.

Waiting
When I'm sleeping I'm waiting. When I wake I'm waiting. Eating, working, driving, breathing. I am waiting. I am patience personified. I wait for the right opportunity. I wait for the right job, for the right partner, for the right home. I'm waiting for my opportunity to step into the sun. The moonlight has seen my shine and wants to share my gifts with the sun. I wait for his glow. I am special to him too, not only in the evening. Time is always ticking and soon I believe my chance will come. I know it will be amazing and worth the wait.
