Loner's Love
Nights are cold, dark and dreary,
When my heart is weak and weary.
Upon this night a shadow is born,
The manifestation of a lost love’s scorn.
How to say what should have been heard in the past,
Is the hardest thing, such an impossible task.
The fear of rejection would not to permit,
A loner’s mouth ever to ever spit,
Of the true emotions deep inside,
Will forever stay and then reside,
To an area of self-loathing and hate,
With no one else to blame for her own mistake.
To be isolated and then to vow,
Never again shall I sweat from my brow,...

The Precious Stone
An inanimate object that drives us.
It calls us by names.
Rare it is and valuable as well.
It is man’s desire to have such a thing.
There is only one “Precious Stone” in the world,
And no one has come to claim it.
The “Precious Stone” is the definition of absolute corruption and superiority
Man still wages many wars for this one “Stone.”
This “Stone” is the sole source for any battle or declaration of oneself.
Many have almost had it in their grasp, but somehow it slips away.
Lost forever but never forgotten.

The Innocent
Trapped in the whirlpool of violence, the Innocent await their fate.
Forgetting that they exist, they are caught in the cross fires of their enemies' rage.
The Innocent has had their blood shed across many lands for many years.
Mothers hold the lifeless bloodies that were their children.
Children who felt alone are now truly alone in the world;
never hear the sweet voices of their families.
The young who haven't seen the world when it is not enraged with anger;
now fearful and are introduced to the hate of those who caused them pain.

Sacrifice
They know what I’ve done.
The great battle’s been won.
I leave behind one son.
At least one of us will live on.
This was my life,
The duty of a mother and wife.
They will -- not deprive.
Me of my sacrifice.
I am -- waiting.
Anticipating.
For the -- coming
Of the Death Dealer’s bringing.
The tear drops -- falling

Relfection
Can you see me?
I can’t see me.
Trapped faceless within your shadow I wait for you to recognize me.
But you go on while I stray closely behind.
You leave me alone in this shell of a world,
Never having the chance to walk outside and to be seen.
I'll never have the chance to talk with those who love me.
All you do is throw me into a closet and pretend you don't hear my cries.
I love you, but I know deep down you will never express that feeling back.
Why do you hurt me?
Why do you hurt yourself?
I see it all through my window eyes.

My Skin and Me
I see myself and I'm ecstatic to see the reflection.
I am who I was born to be.
Strong, beautiful, caring, determined and such,
Yet there are certain society standards that expect me to be otherwise.
Though I'm black certain things are associated with my black-necessity that I want to erase.
Does this make me a traitor to my race?
Of course not!
I will never deny my human persona, whether they are good or bad.
What about my ethnicity?
I say no but others might say yes.
I refuse to be a stereotype.
I refuse to be a statistic.
I refused to be...

Love
For the longest, I have been waiting for you.
I've seen and been through so much just to have this.
You are my friend.
Words cannot express the gratitude I have for you.
At times when I am with you my heart becomes so full it could burst.
When alone I think of you and all that we have done.
You are far from perfect.
So am I.
Yet you continue to love me and all the pain I bring.
When we are separated I have been tempted.
Well-wishers speak into my ear,
Promising me all that are repressed within my dreams.
I escape in my mind what life would be...

Lady
I am tall, I am pretty, I smell sweet and dress neatly.
Oh yes, I am a Lady.
I flutter my eyes, I pout my lips, and I cross my legs and swing my hips.
Oh yes, I am a lady.
I say "please", I say "thank you", I say "I'm honored", but am I supposed to?
Oh yes, because I am a Lady.
Yet when I open my mouth and voice my opinion,
You become shocked and appalled, then come to the decision
Oh yes, I am not a Lady.
So I end up becoming an outcast.
Knowing damn well that I will not last
A moment in this cruel and unforgiving...

Why do the quiet have to be known as weak?
Why do the loud have to be known as strong?
Why do the beautiful ones have to be known as popular?
And why do the ugly have to feel shame?
The quiet are the loudest of all if you can hear it.
The loud are just a cover-up to hide their true selves.
Being around so many people 24/7 they don't think that they're still alone.
But maybe we all are just wearing masks to hide ourselves.
Not wanting people to see us at our worst or best.
Maybe we act like this because we don’t know ourselves, but being what the public...

Human and Nothing More
I fear no man for he is I.
If he is I and I am him then his flaws are shared with mine.
Yet he’s a bigger threat than I.
Why am I not scared?
Why won’t I run?
For I fear no man because he is I.
So how can I defeat him?
There are many ways.
None of which I would try.
For he and I are the same.
He knows what I know and vise versa.
He and I are connected on multiple levels.
I bleed.
So he bleeds.
What color?
Red.
Though the type might differ we’re still the same.
This takes me back to my initial statement.

What a long road it’s been.
I remember way back when,
The time I laid eyes on you.
I fell in love and it was true.
You're turning 21 and this is the time,
To have your fun. That’s why I'm
Letting you go and play with your girls,
Since I'm not the center of your world.
I fell sorry for you because you had the best.
(Insert Name) and whoever else is totally less
When compared to my beauty, success, and charm.
You apparently wanted the opposite wrapped around your arm.
Your car accident was she in the front seat?
You see God doesn’t like ugly...

You call me more than that and I do not want it.
I will still be there for you because I vowed my loyalty.
Whenever you need me, just call.
I will protect you from harm.
You are never alone because I am always with you.
If you want to lie to yourself and think otherwise,
My actions are more than enough evidence.
If you're doing something wrong -- I will call you on it.
There is no need to talk behind your back when you are standing right in front of me.
Maybe you just do not understand what a “friend” is.
Maybe that is why you “accidentally” damaged me....
