POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I recently started writing poems about the struggles and trials of life. I hope to one day compile my poetry into a book and have it published. If you see my works posted elsewhere under a different name, it is probably me, for I go by a few aliases.
Moving On
I thought I had moved on.
I was merely fooling myself.
Time is the only panacea for this grief.
No temporary diversion can suffice.
Will this regret ever cease?
Or will it consume me to the grave?
If such sorrow reoccurs
My soul will bend to the abyss.
I really did love you all this time.
Why didn't I realize it?
It's too late now.
The hourglass has been spent.
I must go on now.
But not without an empty heart.
Will I find another like you?
Never, that's impossible.
This scene takes place again and again.
How much can a man's...
I was merely fooling myself.

Will this regret ever cease?
Or will it consume me to the grave?

Love's Regret
Why didn't I love you
When I had the perfect chance?
Now I'm left here, all alone
The one to blame, myself.
This regret brings tears to eye
Each time I hear your name.
Now that I'm left here, broken
I'll never be the same.
When I had the perfect chance?
Now I'm left here, all alone
The one to blame, myself.
This regret brings tears to eye
Each time I hear your name.
Now that I'm left here, broken
I'll never be the same.

Secret of the Trees
One day, I woke in darkened wood
Amongst the aged pines I stood
And asked the secret to life so old
Never a tale so fearsome told.
The trees talked back, and grim replied
Not one deceased chose when he died.
Each lay at the mercy of the lumberjack.
Any choice in the matter, they strictly lack
But lay in wait for the cutting day
When each one shall bend and fray.
Such is the fate of all mankind
Though desperately we attempt to rewind.
But all is vain, a fruitless struggle
Though our riches we try to smuggle
Across the bridge of...

Seclusion
Trust? Me? Perish the thought!
I tried that once, dirts all I got.
Peace? Me? Nowhere to be found!
Fear, pain, sorrow, are all that abound.
Love? Me? No one would dare!
They all flee from me, not one left to care.
Hope? Me? What is the use?
All that it leaves is internal abuse.
No matter the struggle, I remain obtuse.
All that's left for me, is to remain a recluse.
I tried that once, dirts all I got.
Peace? Me? Nowhere to be found!
Fear, pain, sorrow, are all that abound.
Love? Me? No one would dare!
They all flee from me, not one left to care.
Hope? Me? What is the use?

All that's left for me, is to remain a recluse.

My Sweet Ellie
Sweet Ellie meant all life to me.
In her tender arms I felt finally free.
But death so cruel, his blackest hand
Took mine own Ellie from this land.
Torrents of sorrow filled each bone
My shattered spirit became a stone.
This terror's fangs, cruel agony bring.
I have tried so many an evil thing
To cover the torment held deep within
With countless attempt at deepest sin.
My wrist I slit to dull the pain.
The crimson flow fell down like rain.
I sook the bottle to ease the flood
And oft awoke in pools of blood.
I turned to pills to...

Slavery Within
Bound by shackles yet again.
Once more I've fallen deep to sin.
These blackened chains cannot be loosed.
One choice remains, the swaying noose.
Alas! There rings the fateful knell!
The only path leads straight to hell.
Bound neath the tempting lion's paw
The air grows cold, and darkness fall.
Dreams of tattered wrist fresh slit
This ebony soul, no longer lit.
Is there any respite from writhing here?
Or am I forced to live by fear?
Regret draws nigh, his fangs deep cut.
