love is a bridge
that crosses across your heart
simply understanding will bring nothing
and you thoughts are merciless upon your shaft
Oh, the abysmal vanity of it all
love is a dead man's gift

oh, the sky is red,
and methodical--
it breaks my heart,
In tangled autumn
sunset reverie
sunset mayhem
The mirage of light
Is farthest on the slope
that descends into golden sundyed waves
and methodical--

The waves are part of the everloving sea
The moon is part of the night
and if we don't belong anywhere
maybe we don't belong at all
Sometime in the night,
The vision will swallow you whole
and spit you through the black hole's core
into some other bubble universe
that draws like a moth to the light...
It is the final vision, the final throwout,
before madness finally descends in...

Temple of the Mind
Somewhere in the deserts
of time the spirits sail restless
along blue ocean warmth love
into cruel tempest and of the vigil
lighthouse moon fangs comely heritage
of the afterdark present
Oh, but in the temple of the mind
the phantoms are out at large
singposts of
the city credo mumble
Somewhere, among all things unnatural the man
makes his nest and surrenders the piety
of rain fire to the mercy of
the elevator
of time the spirits sail restless

Oh, but the wind sails fine
into the deep pocket's marrow
fiddling, with its turnip and its stew
oh, but we've got a lot to boil over here
bumpty bumpty bump
So when at last the fences come
let them be, let them stand tall
bumpty bumpty bump
they will think you are the lonely pigeon
they won't talk of you when you are gone
and when you are set free, in the heaven's gaze
there will be irises staring at you in wonder
