The Making of Grace
drops of rain through leafy fronds
falling on her nose as she slept
on a reed mat under the mosquito nets
she dreamed of homes without leaky roofs
standing alone, tears cascading down her face
the school bullies just stamped on her lunch
it was just rice and a fried fish
she swore against hunger and poverty
her father lashed her with his belt
for staying late studying in the library
whore staying back in school with boys
the whippings and kicking strengthen her
enrolling in martial arts for protection
father...

He Didn't Dance
happy feet they came together
drumming out a thumping rhythm
heels tapping furiously
but you know, he didn't dance
he kept a vigil by the door
he couldn't dance without her
He never once stopped and look
he didn't think it worth
to explore unknown life's pulse
to stop the other before its done
to discard the one he loved most
although she's much too far away
no she didn't come through the door
no blooms fell from glittery skies
or sounds of owls or whipoorwills
she didn't whisper into his ears
promises and kisses of...

So Long Robin
What Dreams May Come
to embrace you
Good Will Hunting
on the other side
You were Hook, Jack
and Jakob who can't lie
to save himself
being a snarky Popeye
Goodbye Robin
You have left the Birdcage
smile now pack that Punch
the World's Greatest Dad
You were more than those
you went beyond the stars
Nano Nano, Good Bye Mork
Hope all's good back in Ork.

Wintry Smiles
Wintry smiles through tears
eons ago, that was a sad goodbye
nothing really touched us then
just that surreal taking leave
strangers who were almost lovers
children playing hoops on fields
during bright sunny days
painting roses in the sky
wishes of hope filled young hearts
trying out crowns of flowers
innocence of a bygone era
remembered just today
where did it all go
where did he go
I wonder if he remembers me
its a sepia coloured yesterdays
playing albums of photographs
so much thoughts traversed through...

Two Pm on Saturday
He was sitting there getting cold
on the park bench getting lonely
he wished that someone
would sit with him and speak
touch him with their words
or with a kindly hand
he was loved once, someone dear
such a beauty, how he cherished her
loving her hard, holding her to him
through tears and fears, brought up a child
through illness, he held her to his chest
holding hands, laughter and loving
seasons changed and so did they
warmth of summer changed to endless winter
he felt her growing further and...

The Cell
Ringing no reply
waiting almost breathless
then a short ring
a text message
on the Cell
smileys made her day
glory to God, they praise
unto him they give all
a press of an alphabet
he explodes in ecstasy
the Cell that links
many to their maker
a silent tear,
condolences from afar
sadness typed on screen
the Cell
flowers for an aching heart
spoken silently soothing
the Cell small and big
adhering to the wrists
like second pulses
needful to our hearts
imagine life without...

Silent Solo Trapeze Artist
think before and afterwards
running onwards now give thoughts
share your satin covered bed
or feel the freedom flying solo
the grass is green over the fence
they are cropped by pretty ponies
with painted nails and braided hair
you wish to dance with cheer
kisses betraying promises
of planting flowers on pots
a walk behind the trails
winding on leafy paths
climbing mountains touching clouds
flying with paint on wings
rain on haloes ring heads
night on darkness fly you home
Think on decide the...

Why Is a Writing Desk
they scream you know these spiders
trapped behind alcoves
scrabbling about the old webs
spun by narrators of old tales
O nudge nudge wink wink
what they do at the porch
exchanging venoms from forked tongues
and the hatter's mad
how creepy the King's story
weird she says in the long run
Needful things and making the stand
its only the dark half
The raven at the writing desk
who are you he asks
I am one with many hats
she says, exchanging one for the other
a pointy hat, a bowler hat
a fedora...

Uncharted Contents
in sweetness confess the lover
true to his heart he gives all
for his ringed one left a space
to fill with warmth the empty air
full love lost given without qualms
the new one with tender sympathy
secondhand goods used merchandise
cupped to her breast she nourishes
tempests crash the moored boats
torn asunder the tied ropes
the one who left has return
to claim the hands with ringed finger
what to hold on but to heart
eyes towards the lover seek
the truth of love the honour be
or mere bandage to bind the wound

*Lest we Forget
Silent shadows filing up the tropical mountains
Forced death march by the conqueror
God turned away from his children
Who fought and killed for dominance of His creations
In a land other than their own
Full blasts, angry greedy minds of puny leaders
the winds from the mighty six
words written on parchment
gentle calligraphy Suzuki’s dragons
the winds of war rages over the sea
swords forgetting the laws of Bushido
now ground the meek, force the inhabitants
to bow to their mighty civilisation,
the proud...

I Hear Not
a trickle of melted snow
icicle on pine needle
breaking and falling below
an almost inaudible crack
flinching with the sound
too loud like a gun shot
in an echoing hall
resounding against the wall
that's the spoken words
of him, who said he was
the beloved of her
heard but not understood
reading lips not hearing
looks exchanged such fierce
subjugation of priorities
no names for it, just hating
indifference settled between them
holding but not touching
living on fantasy of changes
that tomorrow may...

A Gasp in Time
it was a stop in a minute
designated randomly by time
a pause, like a slowed clock
the heart skipped a little
witnessing a perfection
in that small tick
it was a gasp
a little stumble
a slow growing ripple
and a euphoria
starting from the centre
encompassing the surrounding space
a writing on the wall
a graffiti, etched there
adorning a pulse
that would go on for a while
adoring that perfection
an honesty in the words
I love You.
