slumped over puffy-eyed
haven't cried for hours
wishing that burnt hair
smell would go away
don't forget the wings have teeth
crickets don't chirp
when they rub their feet
hammer down the sickle
I busted a hump doing that
or so I was told
but if I could see
through my eyelids
it wouldn't help
me give a shit

dead heart waltz
wandering the way of the crow
she dances a dead heart waltz
in titanium heel louboutins
through taupe laden skies
outlined in vermillion hues
seeking acceptance
from the reflection
in the mirror
an unyielding desire
to be part of the slaughter
it is paramount
to her souls survival
feeding off painful loot
stolen from hearts of the damned
fruitlessly trying
to fill empty with empty ...
