I have always belonged to her
She is everything to me
Ecstasy runs through my body when I know I’m getting closer to her
My maiden holds many others but is always willing to be my vestal comforter
Her grace has been around forever before my seed and will be here long after I am dead
The sky above her radiates with astonishing beauty that even makes heaven envious
I love her more than anything

We ride across the sky with the wheels on the ground
Big dreams in pink clouds are bright
An old life left behind in the rearview mirror and 218 miles to Raton
Native American trailer parks beneath mist of mountains
Dirt roads that dead end and lead to EVERYWHERE
Scents of juniper and pinion and fall air
Lands that have not changed in a thousand years
EVERYTHING is in this moment
Big dreams in pink clouds are bright

Seeking the Truth
I look for the truth like everyone else-right?
Will I even recognize the truth?
Do I need to prepare myself?
Cleanse the hatred and ignorance?
Ascend to a higher level of consciousness?
Then and only then will I be ready for certain answers?
Like a bewildered child I have so many questions…

I/We kill innocent people for oil.
I/We masturbate to pictures of fat women.
I/We take money from the poor in the name of God.
I/We ride my bike.
I try to sound clever, when really, I’m scared.

The People I Hate
I hate people who sit in a coffee shop,
Sip on their lattes all in the name of cool.
Listening to Coltrane and NPR,
Driving their hybrid SUVs,
Living in Uptown,
Fuck you,
You pretentious asshole!
I hate people who go to Whole Foods
And buy organic tofu,
Read The Total Uncertainty proudly
In front of everyone at Starbucks,
They only give a shit about something
When George Clooney gives a shit.
Wait a minute; could it be possible
That I can only recognize this because
I might be one of them??!!
