POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I'm Dillon, I write mostly sad or unhappy and love poems, I love to branch out into the weird though.
I Watched
I watched as time and space
Ripped holes in your heart
And withered your face
I watched as the rain dampened your hair
Running down your face in streams
And you cried without a care
I watched as you kissed your first love
Injecting his breath into your heart
Thinking he fell from the heavens above
I watched as you traced the skies
Fingers interlocked with each other
Lost in his eyes
I watched as you cried when he left
Holding onto pain and regret
His heart deeply wept
I watched as he offered himself back
And you just laughed...
Ripped holes in your heart
And withered your face
I watched as the rain dampened your hair
Running down your face in streams
And you cried without a care
I watched as you kissed your first love
Injecting his breath into your heart
Thinking he fell from the heavens above
I watched as you traced the skies
Fingers interlocked with each other
Lost in his eyes
I watched as you cried when he left
Holding onto pain and regret
His heart deeply wept
I watched as he offered himself back
And you just laughed...

It's Funny How Things Are
I'm leaving soon
About to start a new life
I'm excited and happy
But I'm sad, I shouldn't be
Sad because I won't see you anymore
You won't see me anymore anyway
But just the slightest chance
It's a crazy want but I'll miss it
Probably speak to you on the phone less
Shut out from the same old lines
Releasing a breath that contracts my very core
Squeezing over my heart when I think
Like how I feel about my thoughts
Thoughts I don't know are true
Like you only remember I exist when you need something
Or someone to talk to
I'm so...
About to start a new life
I'm excited and happy
But I'm sad, I shouldn't be
Sad because I won't see you anymore
You won't see me anymore anyway

Lone Samurai Moon
I remember it all too well
Like it was yesterday
How the wind felt that day
Blowing through the grass
How the trees rattled
Dropping leaves by
Like a flock of birds flying to the horizon
The sun slowly setting on the horizon
The sound of air escaping from this mans neck
A faint hiss over the sound of the wind
Him hold it and wincing in pain
As the blood streamed through his fingers
Just past his fingertips
He could not stop it
Just prior to this my sword
Flashing through the sun
Blinding this man for a second before he could...

I Am Me
I woke up today
From a batch of weird dreams
They quickly evaporated
Something about them must have been unsettling
Because the first thing I looked for was someone to hold
Someone to hold me
Then I realized I'm all alone
No one there to hug me to
No one to touch, remind me its okay
I'm a grown man
But still want to be hugged like a child
By a mother who loves me
Hugged by a woman, who adores me
But I have neither
So I must do what a man must
Suck it up and wait for the feelings to go
But I say that's bullshit
and I hate...

The Buses of Euphoric Tranquility
The bus crowded with a faint musk
No one wants to be there
Everyone is a shade of grey
They all look so unhappy
Until my eye crosses her sitting by herself
Gold hair as she nervously fidgets
She continuously stares out the window
Except for a quick glance my way
And I want to smile at her
She won't even look me in the eye though
Because she's too busy playing with her hair
Too busy slowly mouthing the words
To the song coming through her headphones
Something like "if love was left to live"
I can't read lips so one can only ad...

The Past is Still the Present
You may think I never cared
But I still did the things I didn't like
Just for you and you alone
Held back my feelings forever
Just to help you stay happy
Even if I was crying before I answered the phone
Because I cared, still put your happiness before mine
I'll never understand why though
Because I feel you will never come my way again
My every inch screams your name
While I float by in a sea
Reaching for you as you pass by in the sky
I feel I may go under one day
Just remembering our passion
But this is the present
Yet my stomach...
But I still did the things I didn't like
Just for you and you alone
Held back my feelings forever
Just to help you stay happy
Even if I was crying before I answered the phone

The Lie of the Lifeless
Walking in the darkness
In a two-lane alleyway
Coloring through outlines of lipstick
Illuminating like neon signs
Inviting the touch of breath
Losing ones hat
where one already lost his head
As I shambled up the cruel staircase
Hanging onto a rail
Like a bus driver hangs on to his pension
The evenings froth
Still bubbling in the back of my throat
Like gasoline that was poured into an automobile
Glass after glass until the picture was blurred
Outlined in chalk
Then forgotten when walked on too much
Door handles whisking me through...
In a two-lane alleyway
Coloring through outlines of lipstick
Illuminating like neon signs
Inviting the touch of breath
Losing ones hat
where one already lost his head
As I shambled up the cruel staircase

She fell down to one knee
The earth cracking gently
Beneath her as she gasped
Displacing the sand around her
and clasped one hand to her lungs
The other holding herself up
Holding the weight she carried
Half sunk into the sand
As Rain drops fell from her eyes
Which held visions of him
While she let out a heart breaking scream
Until she feel she may collapse
Gasping for air to return to her
Make her whole again
Then she screamed even louder
Out across the ocean
Into the sun setting
A tranquil scene
Of pain, and twisted...
The earth cracking gently
Beneath her as she gasped
Displacing the sand around her
and clasped one hand to her lungs
The other holding herself up

Revolution of Resolutions
We all resolve to change something with a new year
Trying to change our outcomes for the better
How do you resolve to be happy again?
How do you let go of everything you held so close
Our addictions to pain and heart break
How do you let go of the things you dream about
The things you wake up sad that you don't have
How do you let go of pain?
You simply can't say good bye to it
You can mask it but it will still taunt
I resolve to not tell someone I hate them
To not tell someone they ruined my life
Revolution on our resolutions
I won't be...
Trying to change our outcomes for the better
How do you resolve to be happy again?
How do you let go of everything you held so close
Our addictions to pain and heart break
How do you let go of the things you dream about

Conversations With the Mind : Generations
I sat back watching the time tick away on clocks
The throngs of man bringing chatter to deaf ears
While the clouds reshaped the mind, in the inebriation
of the heart
Tip toeing around the thoughts of obligations
Two eyes set on the sun during the eclipse of the soul
Bringing the dead some peace of mind to what they lost
To what they no longer hold yet live in
Living a life of death
I trace the air in a circular fashion, drawing a hole
Looking through to the other side, the darkness of it all
The other side of the world hidden just beneath...

Flowers of the Shore
Oh, flowers lining the shore
looking to the sea as you adore
Swinging with the wind trying to soar
Bending against the sky's downpour
You always stand tall to the open vastness
Planted firmly for all to see
Standing together in the perfect harmony
I can hear the ocean playing the sounds of life
I'm but a rock looking up past them from behind
Looking out to the infinite possibilities
And thinking to myself "You are so beautiful"
As the sun shines down on you and you glow
With the heavenly bliss that plants me in the earth
Makes me...

The Coloring Book
When colors match, you don't think much of it
Just two like hues that work together
You think "oh red and blue work well"
And that's it, you don't think any more of it
You don't think of the complexities that went into it
The different colors that went into it
The reflection and trapped light
The colorless abyss when there is no light
Absorbing everything around it leaving nothing
Two people who match, you think nothing of it
You see two people who work together
And think "They look nice together"
You never realize the things...
Just two like hues that work together

And that's it, you don't think any more of it
