POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Born under a bad sign with a blue moon in my eyes.
Tapetum
I could see
a whole lot
better if it
weren't
for all these
fucking
lights.

better if it
weren't

Holdfast
Speak in s.words
or garble tyrants -
guzzle time
or walk in stasis,
a moon-wise light
crags & dips
the quill in creaming
calls for riposte -
derisive flux
in crux of motion...
drinks in half
a skyline wish...
forges iron fists
to plebeian pissing -
an angry caste
in molten glare -
laws of jungles
etched in stone;
storm & stress
the dusk of roads...
urge & strike alone
a lush of salt
bleeding temples
stanching wounds...
gut-tested steel
tasting half-mad...

In My Limited Experience...
(or "Maybe It's the Company I Keep")
...it's weird when
I meet people
who prefer
Pepsi to coke.

Why you
goin' out
for tacos,
boy?
You got
prime rib
at home,
man.

Salt & Light
Preface: now that you fine DUP folks might know me a tad better, this is another repost, along with another reference article, to help (maybe) guide the reader to a better understanding of where I've been & where I'm going. I like it when people draw their own conclusions, though. I often learn from that. Sometimes, it does alter my own perceptions on my own writing. & feel free to call it a nonsensical piece of tripe, if ya wish! I won't mind. But this is one of my personal favorites, hence the repost.

Echo Chamber
Bagatelle quiet,
scintilla of dismissal
howling hollow words.
Self-absorbed silence,
staccato revelations
ariettas glean.
Truncated song,
aphorism at the nib
of myopic thought.

See How They Run
(reposted for the Radio comp, along with articles for the reader to reference...it's (probably) the best poem I've ever written...thank you.)

the morning sizzles...
a warmed up
&
chilled out
flowering first, I am
a walk (more like
a run) through the night...
& I have forsaken sweet
for a kiss of bite, ...

Blunt-Force Trauma
I never learned
how to pierce
the heart.
I always
focused
on striking
the brain.

the heart.

focused

Brightest Shadow
(or "Darkest Light")
Borne of fire
upon wound or life
repeating silk & steel
held close to my breast,
a skin of significant
numbers & letters
in tactless, tacit
night breath twine.
Snake eyes
from lamb heads.
Sometimes I wake
to boots of blistering cold,
& though sleep is luck
I’ll die with them on...
a red heart splatters,
(beating on a platter)
as daemons croon
for negligent members...
alibied in ash...

Split the Difference
Blade for blade & pound for pound,
a scowling weight resides the ground.
Changing truth for swinging mood
on eye for eye or tooth for tooth.
By storms of old our stolen gold,
a faraway scale on capered stone.
Our yellow coins flip cooling moons
to a creaming shaft of azure pools...
for when plough & sword are hued in blue,
for when flesh & mound are beaming true...
sparking sharp, my whetstone slides
a pounding deep to sing your while.
Laid on spades & mounting scowl,
a howling wait provides the ground.

Vertical Crossroads
On wayward trails of gnawing rambles,
a gibbering voice that talks in worm.
Railing mindspeak hooks repeating
a gibbet swing of moods on the breeze.
Sojourns wailing a phantom lover,
like pecking ravens, they nail the night.
(Fades of shade are in lockjaw grinning,
a forget-me-not is long in the tooth.)
A memory smiles an ax to winter
with a fleeting dream of summer heat.
A waylaid sense for wary spinning
on roads unknown that lead to truth.
Vagabond path of blazing shambles,
a blithering voice that speaks in storm....
