MISCELLANEOUS POEM

*Note**
This was done for my creative writing class at college. I don't normally write like this, but it had to fit the requirements.
Black high tops with what
used to be white soles,
mud-covered, worn down.
Red, green, blue and black
covers every inch.
The acrid smell of Sharpie
follows like a shadow,
never showing its face;
behind you, waiting to strike.
Once a jock's uniform,
now worn by those excluded.
Covered with band logos:
Slipknot, Paramore, Flyleaf.
Sing of the tears running down
a girl's face,...

Trust Me
Know that I wasn't expecting it
because it happened so fast,
but trust me that
it's okay.
Confusion overlays every emotion
thought and action. But
trust me,
I'll hold strong until the end.
I'm sorry it had to go this far
even right after you confided in me.
I should have known; you'll
say it's not my fault but it takes
two people and I'm one-half of the
equation.
You were my first, but please
don't be scared because
I'm not expecting a thing.
I've said so many times that ...
because it happened so fast,
but trust me that

Heart
Where has my heart gone?
I cannot find it, and I fear that I
have lost it.
I cannot feel, my heart no longer
beats.
Thomp. Thomp. Thomp.
Everything has gone, no blood is left
in my body.
Where have my bones gone?
I have to rip my flesh apart,
to find the white, smooth stability
underneath.
My lungs are gone,
I cannot breathe, I am
suffocating.
I cannot find it, and I fear that I
have lost it.
I cannot feel, my heart no longer
beats.
Thomp. Thomp. Thomp.

The Beast
Heart racing and hands clammy
she runs as fast as she can
away from the shadows.
They chase her into the
inner most depths of her mind.
She tries to hide, but
they chase her until she can't run.
They set fire to everything and
burn away all hope.

Friday
She held her head low
never looking you in the eye
and when you asked
she refused to reply.
They have hurt her,
put bruises on her back
where the belt hits the soft skin
right where it is most vulnerable.
How can she face you now?
With the burden of one Friday night,
two days before the day for love
hanging over her shoulders.
When she feels so small
you tell her she is deserving
enough to
just say
no.

Queen Of All Hearts
You expect everything
to be handed to you on a silver platter,
because gold is too bright
for eyes so used to darkness.
Everyone are your slaves,
put on the Earth to kiss your feet
and follow in your shadow
because you cannot stand alone.
You broke his heart with
no remorse and now you feel entitled
to dancing on the broken pieces.
He loves you so much but
unexpectedly you ended it and now
you're ruining other relationships;
how can you help him cheat?
You are the queen and
we are your...

Beat
One more slice, knife piercing the skin
and blood pouring from the chasm in
my arm.
Maybe this time I'll go too deep;
carry myself out of this hell I'm forced
to live.
But if I haven't, then one more cut;
will one more be enough?
Or will I keep going until that last time
where I finally break the vein keeping my
every breath going, my heart beating.
I wish I could tell you and show you my pain,
but I'm so afraid that you'll turn and
run, and never come back.

Enough
We spend our whole lives searching
for it, and even when it's found
we are restless, and keep searching.
How long can we live like this?
We yearn for the feeling when
your stomach flips, words
stutter and palms are sweaty.
We look for that kiss that
makes us week at the knees
so we fall to the ground.
No one knows when it will happen
but when it does, it makes
your heart race,
eyes flutter and
mind spark with electricity.
But, even when it's found,
it's still not enough.
for it, and even when it's found
we are restless, and keep searching.
How long can we live like this?

What I see
Spiders crawl out of the drains
and charge at my exposed feet.
Their joints flex and the hairs on
their legs bristle against mine as they climb,
higher and higher until they reach
my arms where they bite.
My arms grow hot, turning red and
erupting into a bluish flame.
The skin sears and blisters, peeling
where it can handle the fire no more.
The sound of my screams drown out
the crackle of the flame and the sizzle
of the spiders as theyfervently try to
escape from being cooked alive.
The flames dissipate, but ...
