MISCELLANEOUS POEM

Deception
There are people screaming.
Someone is running, sprinting
burning through the flesh encasing
my chest.
Fire, heat, flames;
curling up like a spiral staircase
until I cannot breathe.
So many voices...
"You killed him!"
"It's your fault!"
"Why?"
"How could you not know?"
Whore. Slut. Irresponsible
smut on the ground that I walk on.
These are the nights I cannot sleep.
Some of the disembodied voices
speak calm words to me.
They soothe me to sleep with silky lies
wrapped around my mind...

Darling
Darling don't you know that I love you?
I may not have known you existed
until it was too late...
but you were still a part of me.
Darling, don't you know that I miss you.
My chest aches with the burning questions
left unanswered about you.
Darling, didn't you know?
Sometimes I picture your hands
and your toes
and your striking dark eyes.
I have a name for you darling,
one I will take to my grave.
Darling, I apologize.
Your protector I was not.
Four months I abused my body;
four months you...
I may not have known you existed
until it was too late...
but you were still a part of me.
Darling, don't you know that I miss you.

LOVE POEM

Freedom
I could ask myself a million questions
with a million answers
but still, where would I arrive if I did?
I could sprint in circles around
the crippling memories from years past
and run marathons with thoughts of the future.
But, I would still be left with a burning
need to know,
a need of passion and desire that
does not, and will not ever exist
between us.
I continue to wonder a thousand "what if's?"
and a hundred "if I was only better's"...
only to come to conclusions that it was not I,
but you who was...
with a million answers
but still, where would I arrive if I did?

LOVE POEM

The Trenches
The trenches of love:
where bombs rain down
over you tearing apart,
not your flesh and organs,
but things much more vulnerable.
Fragments of angry words
and hostility pierce the
exterior of your soul
until they finally tear it
fully apart.
You become hollow.
Bullets from disappointment
and promises not fulfilled
assault your chest from all sides,
penetrating your heart
where thousands of millimeter holes
leak blood as your life
slowly drains away.
A fellow soldier wearing
blindingly white armor ...
where bombs rain down

Today Was A Bad Day
Depression is like your shadow
that doesn't leave when the
sun goes down.
It waits in the corner of
the room until you're at
your most vulnerable,
and then it attacks
leaving you helpless and alone.
Your body literally aches
as your mind shuts down
and tears roll down your cheeks.
Over and over you contemplate
whether it is worth living.
Whether there is anything
left on this planet for you.
Despite knowing differently,
you feel alone and ignored.
Today, I was depressed.
Today, I needed someone...
I...

MISCELLANEOUS POEM

Untitled
I found this today on my computer. I don't remember when I wrote it or the context of my writing it.. but I thought I should post it to get feedback. I don't think it's quite finished just yet.
They settle in around me,
my friends that are kept secret;
kept close to my heart.
On my left is the bottle of pills
to drown out the rushing in my ears,
drive away the screaming.
On my right is the shiny savior.
It saves me from the pain that
is buried deep, so far it can’t be found.
It draws it out so I can breathe again.
All around me...

Muse
How do I even begin?
Is it even possible to
carve such strong feelings
of love onto simple
words on paper?
They say the pen is
mightier than than the sword...
if that is true,
I hope the shedding of
ink brings more understanding
than the shedding of blood.
Once upon a time
I thought we were a fairy tale.
Me, the "damsel in distress"
because somehow trouble always
seemed to find me.
But you were right by my side to
take the pain away.
Things weren't perfect,
some say I was an idiot for ...
Is it even possible to

God
Some people are so certain
that there is a man in the sky.
A great man who knows everything
that ever was, is and ever will be.
He can see us all and he loves us all.
This great man in the sky is
coveted by some, hated by others.
He is all-knowing, all-powerful
and present in all parts of the Earth.
He is loving but can strike a
whole country down with great
forces of wrath beyond human comprehension.
He can cause pain or he can prevent it.
You can survive death because it is his will,
or you can die before your time.
He is...

The Letter
Dear friend,
we were once so close.
We shared the most intimate
secrets you can entrust in
another human being.
At first, it was so wrong.
I knew you had a girlfriend
but I allowed it to happen anyway.
I know this is my fault.
But then you broke up with her
and stayed at my house;
I thought maybe, just maybe
this time, this person was different
from all the others.
Maybe it was my turn to learn of
this "love" everyone seeks after
so desperately.
I admit, I became attached.
All I wanted was to...

The Room
I sit quietly in the corner
of this darkened room.
The room is special,
the room is hidden.
Only those dedicated can
penetrate the solid steel doors
and break the bars on the windows.
A light in the far corner
flickers on and I look up to gaze
around the small space.
I stand and slowly walk to
the window and peer through the bars.
The room begins to shrink...
Stepping over broken mirrors
I take in my surroundings.
Piles of blank papers and piles
of papers with neatly written words
and carefully drawn pictures...
of this darkened room.
The room is special,
the room is hidden.
Only those dedicated can
penetrate the solid steel doors
and break the bars on the windows.

The Crimson Woman
Doomed to walk alone,
forever, as a wandering soul
the adulteress travels with the wind.
Coming and going as quickly
as a wolf howls to the full moon
she lays with the married
and screams at the sun.
Leading the wives to
the edge of a cliff,
she pushes them over the edge
so she may keep her love to herself.
But, when she returns to
his bed where she left him sleeping,
she finds only the shell of a man;
a corpse.
She stares into his dead eyes and
searches for his lost soul.
Wailing with agony...

Little Red Lines
Three little red lines
sitting neatly in a row.
Three little red lines
bleeding out the monsters inside.
Three little red lines
winding tightly around my wrist.
Three little red lines
screaming obscenities at the sky.
Three little red lines
holding hands with the devil.
Three little red lines
crying on newly cleaned sheets.
Three little red lines
apologizing to their keeper.

concealed perfectly with one tan bandage.
