POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I write poetry for fun. It is one of my many graces. When you read my shit, you feel that grace bless you. Hey, it do what it do, I just let it go forth from me freely.
If True Love Burns
If water was time
I'd drink it
If you were mind
I'd think it
If true love burns
I'd risk it--
I'd risk every thing
If snowflakes were eyes
I'd blink it
If you were the sky
I would cry
Because you and I
Are wingless
If true love burns
I'd risk it--
I'd risk every thing
I'd drink it
If you were mind
I'd think it
If true love burns
I'd risk it--
I'd risk every thing
If snowflakes were eyes
I'd blink it
If you were the sky
I would cry
Because you and I
Are wingless
If true love burns
I'd risk it--
I'd risk every thing

Winter
when a lie turns into a belief
when a spy catches a thief
when a tree sheds its leaves
when the earth begins to breathe
the chill in the air
a dark cloud makes Winter proud-- prepare
frigid frost in the atmosphere
the cold descends with demons
do you want to be loved?
or do you want to be appreciated?
Faith, blind me now
do you want justice?
or do you want vengeance?
Put your hands on the plow
when enough becomes too much
when a little goes too far
when the bending has to break
when you gave them everything ...

Procrastination
This is not going to end nicely.
You've disrespected my time,
You've dishonored my intentions,
And I don't take these transgressions lightly.
No more pretensions, no further discussion.
We've spoken enough of prophecy and philosophy.
Let's transcend this phantom dimension
And with our fists, defend our existence.
Draw your saber; I my katana.
Put your wrath into your blade and channel your fury.
No more pity, no more regrets, no more protests.
This ends here, this ends now; this ends, with your head.

The Butterfly's Final Inquiry And Goodbye
A butterfly asked me a question:
Why do I appear in people's poetry
Where my presence has no place?
I mean, people put me in their poems
That have nothing to do with me at all.
I took some time to ponder this inquiry.
I thought how beautiful butterflies are:
Like a painting of a permanent rainbow,
How they once were caterpillars,
Then they meditated in their cocoons,
Incubated in their dreams;
And grew wings.
I looked for the butterfly
To give it my reply.
To tell it that it is a
Symbol and a metaphor;
But it had...

Some Wars Never Heal
some people find hell
some people find help
as the sun rises
and the snow melts
some people are picky
some people are pickled
as the clouds gathered
and the rain trickled
some people are strange
some people are estranged
as the bombs fell
everything changed
some people find help
as the sun rises
and the snow melts
some people are picky
some people are pickled

Milk Of The Clouds
A peril of despair hovers, perching in the air.
Wafting a stubborn sour breeze of dis-ease
Darkening the sky-- bruising the burnt cottonous clouds--
As fate and destiny conjoin forthwith conspiring to appease.
Lightning spoke first and spoke fast, inspiring the score.
Thunder followed suit and followed swift, with rattling roar.
A pregnant pause before the haunting dirge,
A daunting deluge, and the lamentable downpour of a drowning scourge.
Non-stop raindrops numb the hungry desert's famine.
Gargling gleefully the plentiful pardon from nimbus...

Death Is A Preacher
Death is a preacher
with sermon on hand
to take your breath away.
Death demands donation
after fevered demonstration
of her seductive soliloquy.
Death dances atop the
winds of your words,
sliding beneath your secret whispers.
She swims in your ventricles
fishing for hurts,
clawing at your clandestine fissures.
Her tenacity captivates
your restless curiosity,
leaving you agasp with dismay.
You dreamed of a victory,
she screamed out indifferently,
and the butterfly got away.

The Faery Land (crime fiction)
Lando knocks on the door of the elderly woman’s apartment. Shadows swarm the doorsill below and a cold criminal voice inquires.
“Who knocks?” The woman squeals.
Lando’s spine erects. His eyes alert. “Yarlo City Police.”
The shadow disappears from beneath the doorsill. Lando draws his semi-automatic pistol.
The chain on the inside unhinges. The locks turn. The door slowly creaks open into the ceiling-lit room. Lando leads with his pistol pointing at anything that moves. But no one is present. The door shuts abruptly behind him. Lando twirls around....

Lightning Bolts And Lightning Bugs
You will have plenty to eat
And plenty to drink.
Not a day will go by
Where you pause to think.
You will have plenty to read
And plenty to write.
Not a day will go by
Where you are without insight.
You will have plenty of kisses
And plenty of hugs.
You will have lightning bolts
And lightning bugs.
And plenty to drink.
Not a day will go by
Where you pause to think.
You will have plenty to read
And plenty to write.

Black Unicorns
When pain is present
So is fear.
Pain lingers
But fear disappears.
What you touch with your words,
You bruise.
You touched my heart,
It's black and blue.
Together we complete
Each other's sentences.
Apart we complete
Each other's thoughts.
Hiding in our dreams,
White horses sleeping in the snow.
Present in our lives,
Black unicorns standing on our shadows.
So is fear.
Pain lingers
But fear disappears.
What you touch with your words,
You bruise.
You touched my heart,
It's black and blue.
Together we complete
Each other's sentences.
Apart we complete
Each other's thoughts.
Hiding in our dreams,
White horses sleeping in the snow.
Present in our lives,
Black unicorns standing on our shadows.
