The secret to henna
The secret to henna
There is a secret to henna
It's simple, really.
In order to survive
If you use henna
To dye
Your lovely locks
Which I do
For a variety of reasons
In all different seasons
That connection to ancient Egyptian queens
A deep sheen of red
Glinting in sunlight
Though my hair naturally has that already
Truthfully
Now that there are errant strands of grey
To see them turn deep crimson sans dangerous chemicals brings a smile to my lips
My hair is also incredibly healthy making...

I Challenge You
I challenge you upon this note to break a habit or two
To take a look outside your world and see what's left to do
Start with hunger, thats an easy one
Treat someone to a meal
Or if your brave, tackle politics but avoid any hasty deals
Take on war, yes war is good
And how it should be done
Or better yet hit gender first
Inequality, is no fun
Fight against racism, march for rights
But don't lose yourself in turn
Women's Rights are touchy at times
But there's still much we men have yet to learn
I shan't touch on religion for fear of...

Can I live? (for comp. abortion)
In the heat of the moon she laid her pleas
Her tears got the sun cold
The Innocent hung on the terminal tree
Death took the chance to flee
Death knows she deserves to live
Life knows shes worth its breath
Can I live please?
I wanna see mother earth
Homocide is inevitable
Mercy is a chance to live
I heard she's cute
mum! I wanna see dada, I wanna see you too.
Let my fate lie beyond your belly
I promise to be a dream like martin lurther
What if Newtons feotus was assassinated?
Mama, what if yours was shot?

Thirty four
I dressed in purple instead of black. Made a stiff drink then another. On a mission to deal with your death once more. The pain never completely goes away. Its my birthday and I want nothing more than to be near you.
I'm going to pay my respects and fall apart again. No cake or blowing out candles. I cannot celebrate though I know you want me to. I
must find a way to be OK with your transition. So I bid you farewell for now. Vow to live. . Honor u&I. My head is draped in purple instead of black

I'm not sure how this will to go
i suppose I'll just let it flow
I'll let it wend and let it wind
through the morass of my mind
and when its done i guess I'll know
there are some things id like to say
about the state of things today
whats with all the fn hate
whats with the empty plate
what has made us not obey
the words of love of life itself
the only way to perfect health
but no we need to lie cheat n steal
we seem to want what whats not real
the insane chase of material wealth
i say insane cuz i feel its true...

100 Galaxies
Lightyears in seconds
That's how it goes
Universal life lessons
What do you know?
Lift-offs and landings
You are here, and hear
Crisis' come crashing
Not far nor near

What I Mean to Say (Letter to an unloyal friend)
Here I sit atop the three concrete steps preceding the front door, the unnatural orange streetlights and bleach white doorlamps burning unblinkingly, the nighttime more nostalgic than usual, and I wonder how many of us really have the ability to always say what we truly mean to say, in depth, with utter unimprovable accuracy. After ingesting a moment’s contemplation, I figure: perhaps none. To say it perfectly? And then what about effective reception? To say it perfectly and then to be entirely sure, though flawlessly conveyed, that it will be flawlessly heard and understood? It must be none,...

Woulda Coulda Shoulda [?] Been
remnants of faded dreams
flash like animations
in my mind
halfheartedly they beckon
to me with tempting fingers
willing me to taste candy
that was snatched
from my hands
i cried then...
but now its like
an ice cream man
in a shiny black van
the promise is sugary sweet
but the reality
is life being
a motherfucking ass rapist
