True love
I woke today to a message that made my heart melt, and my lips upturn into a cheerful grin,
The past few days have been a rollercoaster of emotions, but the beautiful boy who has my heart took away all my fears and sadness, the kind of sadness that consumes your mind and heart, with words that would make Shakespeare feel content and warm inside.
My love for him is deeper than an ocean, so wide, and not once does it waver when I think of him, my heart is content, my love flowing and growing stronger each day.
I thank him as he did me for loving me, and for caring about me, a...

The things I Miss
I haven't seen you in several days
& I'm just writing to tell you I miss some of your ways
I miss the way your face scrunched up when I playfully denied you a kiss
How every time we went out to eat, we were more concerned with giving a good tip
I miss seeing your body wrapped in a towel fresh after a shower, and how you still looked at me shyly when you dropped it
I miss seeing you feel insecure or weak, so I can boost you up with my love and words
I miss wrapping my arms around you completely, I was your rock & you were my girl ...

Ariel's passion
he was a prince. and Ariel was his slave.
this was the sole purpose of her creation, to serve him until
one of them passed to the realm of Thanatos.
she provided all of his needs…and desires. she fed him & bathed him,
she cleaned the messes that he constantly made. she attended with
great skill to the animal fevers that gripped him. she soothed his lust.
but she was not an uneducated servant. she was endowed with superior
intelligence, attained at the university that she attended, before she was
taken. the prince thrilled to her teachings like...

Pretty Little Dead Thing
That saying,
If you love someone, then you should set them free
Well, you really don't seem to get it
I suspect you're not even listening to me
Pretty little dead thing
Don't come around here no more
Let the past be as it was
I've already asked you this nicely before
Pretty little dead thing
Why can't you just rest in peace?
And let me move onward with my life
I'm begging
Won't you, please?
Cease with this madness
I have to confess
Times have changed
And so have I since that dreadful...

A Blessing from My Sixteen Years’ Son
By Mary Karr
I have this son who assembled inside me
during Hurricane Gloria. In a flash, he appeared,
in a tiny blaze. Outside, pines toppled.
Phone lines snapped and hissed like cobras.
Inside, he was a raw pearl: microscopic, luminous.
Look at the muscled obelisk of him now
pawing through the icebox for more grapes.
Sixteen years and not a bone broken,
nor single stitch. By his age,
I was marked more ways, and small.
He’s a slouching six-foot, three,
with implausible blue eyes, which...

About my Boyfriend
I will be okay
no matter what happens
because
tonight
he kissed me.
His lips were soft
(could barely feel them)
but warm and sweet
and forced the breath out
of my lungs and tore my chest
wide open and now I know it is
possible to love someone so much
that nothing else matters.
He was sitting beside me.
His body was warm.
I could feel his heartbeat
as he held me.
Why the hell would he
want me?
I don't care. He said he loved
me. I don't need any reasons
tonight. I don't...

Smoke and castles , a twisted fairy tale
Smoke surrounded me as I lay in this dark and mystical land , where the birds flew high , chirping as the blissful wind blew and all of these dark wistful trees overshadowed the sky , not much light to be seen , only a midnight glow,
You sat beside me a cigarette parting your crimson lips,
As you inhaled and blew out the smoke, with it my fears blew away too, as your hand brushed mine, your eyes my only moon for tonight,
All these trees became the building blocks to my majestic castle, you were my king for the night and I your queen, I was enthralled by this delightful and...

The Bench
she sits
on her favorite bench
plucked from an antique shop
its wooden slats worn smooth
by countless people resting as
she is now
amidst the pines
tall and shrouded by the suns
dappled light filtering all
around
she looks back at her life
which stands before her
the place she called home
memories whirring
about a long time ago
last year
yesterday
today
she felt the deepness
of the pine needles
beneath her feet
and pushed her sadness
into them
she wondered...

Who are you?
"I'd like to think we had it all."
You left, remember that? You left me, you ruined my mind before I even realized it. I'm sorry if I don't completely understand the situation, but why did you decide to come back into my life?
Was it because I'm trying to do well at a new job?
Or perhaps because I'm doing well in college?
How about because I have friends and family that actually care about my well being?
Better yet, is it because I'm just simply happy, or at least I thought I was. Now everything's thrown out of balance.

yet more poems to past loves
1.
I take comfort
that during the universe’s
Creation
We were one.
We were so close.
and I’m sure
but not certain
that those parts
of yours which
were once part of me
look to the stars
with the sigh
of remembrance.
( To R.C.)
I saw you
And a residue
of recollection
Triggered.
You smiled each time I passed
Until we finally said “ Hi ” .
Embarrassed for you
I crossed the room
Like a comet entering your orbit
Sheltered by it
By the closing of space .
Close to your body...

smoky eyes, steel ribbons
color=Navy]
there’s a poem here. right here in this picture
even here in the wasted, beat-up side of town
‘hood that died years ago
they never got around to burying it
train pulled in to sleep at the station a few blocks
from here. I needed a sandwich, a shot & a beer.
& that’s all I expected from this gimpy night.
sometimes fate with dark hair & smoky eyes falls
right outa the blue.
she walked into the bar behind two other girls, all of
them workin the late shift. the first two hookers took
a booth, joined quick by...

Letty
This kind of girl comes around once in a lifetime
My father said
What did you do
What happen
What’s running through your head
I cant explain
I cant condone
Ashamed comes to mind
How could I let something so perfect go
Now all I got is this fucking rhyme
The first break was rough
Thinking what could I do
Sitting in my bed
The only thing I did, was missing you
The night of the eclipse we gave it one more shot
Cried in each other arms, having a heart to heart
The next morning was cool, everything was fine
Had you back in...
