Her eyes fluttered
her chest sank
they became frenzied
couldn't lose a patient
she watched them
and wished they would stop
she walked outside
and felt the sun
she touched a boy
who did not see her
but he shivered
held his jacket closer
then she coughed in pain
closed her eyes
and woke up to faces
of doctors and nurses...

"Deep Into My Vein"
I look in the mirror and I see a grown man
but deep inside my heart I’m still a little boy
so with this disconnect, my arm’s wrapped in a band
and deep into my vein, goes my most recent toy
I shoot my dope away, racing through my vein
Within only seconds, it takes away my pain
I nod out unconscious, peaceful and at ease
with a rig in my arm that might be diseased
but it doesn’t much matter, my skin has turned blue
and I’m walking through grass with its morning dew
I see a bright light shine through a tunnel
I think out loud, “the end of my troubles”
Then through my eyes, full of joyous tears
I see the souls I knew from my younger years
They stop me and tell me, “you can’t come in yet”
With this information, I start to get upset
“The Lord has plans for you” one of them said
“Search with your heart and don’t listen to your head”
So now I have a goal for which I’ll always strive
and instantly my body was coming back alive

My spirit died

I lost the feeling in my arms

You made me sick in the head
You got the message
That smile on my face
Maybe next time
I'll leave
Without a trace
You've lied
