    tapfere Madchen

when I found her, I had no poem.

her eyes held questions & inquisitions,
theories & assumptions  -
her eyes held epiphanies.
but not stars. there were no stars in her eyes.

into her ear, I chanted a sad song,
which did not alter her countenance.
the melody of the song,
and the message of the song,
drifted tepidly down her cheeks.
but not like tears. not at all like tears.

when she showed me her heart, there were
love-notes clinging, from distant lovers,
long gone away, the words not faded
but clear, so dear did she hold them.
not of feathers nor flowers, as penned
by a minstrel or bard. not at all rococo.

the robe she wore was a composition,
lexicon of a language unknown to me,
yet somehow I understood, though
bewildered that it lacked gatherings
of ruby & sapphire, amethyst & peridot  -
nor even golden brocade.

she was not a goddess, nor a witch.
she was not Galatea, nor Medusa.
not an apparition, nor a lachrymose dream.
she was herself  -
because it was all she needed to be.

and when I found her, I did not need a poem…

she was the poem.

howls from St. Peter's den

why am I at peace with the overtures of the dead
grey and blackened shields entomb the fallen from predators like this charcoaled wolf
for I've long given up my chances for redemption
I simply prowl as a carrion feeder weaving amongst the markers
A vessel for those seeking salvation

I am not stirred by the reconstruction of souls I never knew
I need only hide behind the monotheistic bait for those foolish enough to believe in divinity

Crepuscular bandits bobbing  in my wake borough for morsels of the soulless
Blood was spilled in every story told
and it's all I need to whet and sate my purpose

Shroud your loved ones with tears and shrieks of sorrow you hypocrites
Their passing makes room for you

Heard by few are your hollow bellows of grief
that echo within the catacombs by which I slumber this night
And the within the shell that you perpetuate

I'm panting now
My pulsating tongue and syncopated breath
deciphers your camouflage
Capitulation serves you best
for I will be fed in the stone garden of St Peter's

His gates were not designed to keep me in

They are merely a testament that you can't stay out

Postscript: written after spending a night at one of my havens; St. Peter's church and cemetery.  I slept nestled among the tombstones.

1.

strange ones the hippos
only really come out at night
for a quick bite of a few flowers
I s'pose they like the peace and quiet
who knows really, I know this though
wouldn't want no hippo thinking I was a flower
I've seen them on national geographic
and the power in them fuckers
would have you scared stiff

2.

now here this!
the rules are, there are no rules
should you happen to break the no rules rule
then you'll be in for a strongly written
..what are they called again
oh yes, the reminder
a stern message to make you understand
that there are in fact, no rules

3.
the fools the fools
the skies are so grey
that they probably don't even know what day it is
open your eyes
and do away with this
dark cloud
that hangs over your solace

the ones who know
even do it on the down low
you show me yours I'll show you mine
I'd bet money that after the show and tell
you'll all be chipping in
to get gas for the chainsaw

ocean

I stare...
Into the sea
cold metal
staring
I look
through these bars, head aching,
cold shots
the burning sun the gleaming, the sun
blinding me
blinding me,
a thousand
different voices all matching up
align  in a new symmetry they align
as I  watch
staring
I look
through these bars, head aching,
cold shots
the burning sun the gleaming sun
blinding me

....Skin melting, a hot sweat
diziness as I stand, ....

the oceans scent, a cold shot ears ringing, head throbbing.

I look

Peace Through Poetry

From a distant future lay the remnants
Of a once proud and mighty civilization
Safe haven of warmongers and merchants
Of death—trying to elude their fair share
To a place where peace is a breath of fresh air
And nanotechnology runs the new frontier

Molecular states of matter altered on this frontier
Quantum mechanical effects hardly visible in the air
Atoms in this quantum-realm scale will have its share
Whose common trait is size—in this new civilization
A far cry from old and what’s left are remnants
By-products of war and unscrupulous merchants

Weapons of mass destruction sold by greedy merchants
Wiped out from the galaxy - Earth and its civilization
Combined with the deadly virus we breathed from the air
Worldwide devastation left nothing but deadly remnants
Scattered in the minds of survivors of the old frontier
Tales of horror and sufferings, no one dared to share

If I live to see that fateful day, I would gladly share
Stories of the gallant stand against the greedy merchants
By poetic geniuses who thrived in Deep Underground frontier
Peace through poetry with Strider could have saved civilization
If only we were given some precious time on the Air
By once media moguls whose lair now laid in remnants

Doomsday scenarios hopefully are but just remnants
Of haunting hellish nightmares that I forgot to share
With the rest of the world trying to seek new frontier
Unsure of what the future holds in this dying civilization
Where corruption is common to nanodick merchants
Whose flair for war is unlikely, flaunting in the air

Thick, black fog in the cities now saturates the air
Clearly seen forerunner to the future lost civilization
Technological advancements behind closed frontier
Instead of war, let’s put them to good use and share
Wealth accumulation and greed by bloody merchants
Would be a thing of the past and shadowy remnants

United we stand on this new frontier
With sigh of relief and a breath of fresh air
Love, peace and harmony—we all shall share…

Just like a March Hare sitting in the shaded and obscured.
Obsessing over thee uninvited and the deformed.
I know you want to run away,
And It's killing me to watch you stay,
But how can you ever really learn.

The disease in you veins run colder and deeper than before.
Your red queen has second guessed the nature of who you ever were.
The Mercenary you've become,
Destroyed the life that you once loved.
Her crown in hand is as heavy as her heart.

Melting in the distance is the friendship and the love you need the most.
The lies and all your secrets have blinded you from seeing just how close.
Pull the knife that's killing you.
Everyone knows the truth.
You know to well what you have to do.

           TRAGEDY
Tragic,
was the adjective to qualify the last few days
Day hadn’t wrapped before night came
Oh death!
You faceless traitor
With saturated eyes,
i gulped more bottles of whiskey
The pain was numbing
I was numbed with pain
To fight the grief was the purpose of drinking
And truly I won the battle
But the victory was short lived
Cause the grief died,
and reincarnated to suppressing depression
The burial was today
Grandpa’s burial was today
The pain of grief thickened
Solemn were the occupants of the car,
as I drove us to burial venue
Each lost in individual thought
My world had dulled
My colours had faded to black
He had left even with saying goodbye
Oh death!
You nameless taker
My eyes couldn’t bear the shattered visions,
as the memories of grandpa flooded
So I shut my eyes tightly
More memories flooded easily now
I momentarily forgot I was driving
I was half way sleeping, slipping further
Slipping out of reality
The screams of the car occupants;
my parents and sisters
Recuperated me
The terror filled screams hung on the air,
fading slowly as the car stumbled and tumbled
Death was in my face
It embraced me warmly
It smelled of clay
We were heading for a burial
Each heading to each’s grave

Nature's Song

The sun rises over the hill tops
of a bright new morning.
Birds chirping in the wind
as angels sing.

Tears of peacefulness
flow down a river
through a valley
of morning glow.

The smell of spring
roams calmly through the air
a warm, gentle touch from heaven.

Butterflies flutter
as flowers blossom.

A stream of water
falls from a cliff
to a beautiful pond
where Bambi gets a drink.

The precious creatures on Earth
roam freely throughout the land
to live happily ever after
In god's green pasture.
