aries and a libra

we're anything but star crossed lovers
the stars have aligned us up
perfectly.
but i think it's funny how
i am aries
all that is masculine and war
and he is my libra
venus goddess of love
all that is feminine and beauty.

no two signs
are polar opposites
besides ours
and though we may be backwards
we still bring
everything to the table
and all the compatible charts
say we're bound
to match

so i say
it was written in the stars
not crossed out
that our love
rose.

Pearl of My Eye

Many see my brown skin
And coarse tufted ebony hair and think
Beast
Born of the jungle
Wild and ravenous
He's a Leo
That's what they are
Stay away from that

She was warned by many
That I would reek havoc
Just watch for the signs
He is a predator
He'll leave your carcass and soul for the jackals to pick at

She dared Fate and surrendered
to me in that first touch
She did not have to
She had power of her own
Not just in her beauty that so many sought to conquer and slay
But within her vessel itself

This Aquarian carried life
When offered I gladly drank from it
It sated me
Restored my dignity
Healed

She looked deep within my eyes
Saw the ebony pearls within
Placed one inside her challis to reaffirm our love
We knew not what we dared
Star crossed love has it's toll
A levy set by Venus and collected by Hades
A price was paid
The pearl washed away

She bathed in rose hip, coconut milk and lilac to heal the wound
The body is mended
But our hearts are trapped like stars in the sky for Juno to mock
As she did Callisto

Hidden by day
Imprisoned by night
Star crossed love

No one mourns for us
But all would trade a year for the
ecstasy we find in a solitary night

She calls me Papi

Ssssh ....Crack
Sssssshhhh ....Crack!
Sssssssshhhhh...CRACK!

If this motherfucker cracks that whip on my ear one more time
I'm gonna make him eat it
Then eat him

"Up Leo!"
Ssssh Crack!
"Up I say!"

Yeah yeah I know the routine
You say up
I go up
You say down
I go down

I know something else too
Today is not the day to try that your head in my mouth shit
Otherwise I'll give these hillbillies the show they really paid to see

How in the fuck did I get here anyway?
Which one of those incestuous Greek bastards did I piss off that badly

Zeus? He needs to learn to keep his cock in his pants
Or wear a condom
Mars? He's too busy setting the world on fire just to get a hard on
Hades? The devil himself, spends half the year with his hand up
his niece's skirt

Legend has it twas Venus that damned my kind
Now I'm stuck with this asshole in his two sizes too big ballon pants
and two sizes too small pith helmet
Playing Lord of the Beasts,
The Great African Hunter

Hunter my ass
He tried eBay then Craigslists to get me
And finally found this link

http://bigcatrescue.org/buy-a-big-cat/

I am demonized
And demoralized
Then held as a Demi God

I am lacerated
Then left to languish
Then lionized when men like him need to find some balls

Shows over
Applause
Go home
Fuck you very much folks

Forget that sign,
By all means, Do Feed the Animals

If he really wanted to give me a treat
Then let me eat
That marsh mellowed faced kid
overstuffed with hotdogs and cotton candy
sitting in the third row

I retreat to my cage

Then she walks in
My Rhiann

She doesnt call me by my clown name
I'm her "Papi"
She comes to care for me
Brings me water
Feeds my body as well as my broken soul

Today she has a rose in her hair
My beauty, a  Bronx born boriqua
Runaway to join the circus

Her skin is caramelized like mine
Both robbed of the joy of the sun by those who would tame us
Marginalize us

"Aqua?" Rhiann asks of me
She lets me lap it from her hand
My tongue is rough
But I am gentle with her
She trusts me
Let's me rest the weight of my deflated existence upon her

"Venga aqui Papi"
She wants me to move my head so she can tend my wounds
inflicted by his whip

Aqui Rhiann?
I eagerly move to the rhythms of her request
I let her feel the weight and thunder of my heart as I lie there
I can hear hers too
She is a doe

Venus is pissed off
So we are star crossed

I am both king and slave
Shackled and barred
Only knowing whispers of her love

"Te amo mucho Papi", she coos
I slumber

There's a matinee tomorrow
The show doesn't have to go on
It just does

The Jackals Feast

Foolish was Hippomenes when he did
not  pay tribute to Venus for
capturing the heart of the mesmerizing Atalanta
He should have known better
Men died in pursuit of her beauty

It was their star crossed love
that binds  my fortune in the vengeance of Venus
For the two were cast out as lions
Forever damned for tempting Fate

My sign,  Leo, cursed and plagued
to wear a hollow crown
In a kingdom where I must do battle
With light footed jackals and crooked neck vultures
Who gladly wait to separate my flesh from bone and scream,

"Here lies your king!"

Sign of the sun
I sought fluid petals to soothe
my scorched soul
My tawny coat and browned mane
Testament to my desert odyssey
Without relief nor contentment

Then the maiden came, the Aquarian
She bore a small vessel of water
She poured so that I might drink
Without question
So that I might live
With new conviction

I led her to a bed of desert blooms
Five imperfect pulsating petals pirouetting off their stems that kissed her skin
One by one
She's seduced and intoxicated by the fragrant sun bathed roses

Without hesitation she lets her tunic fall before me
My growl is guttural
I happily take her gift as a sign

We're enthralled by the bliss of our own Eden
Drunk in the vineyards of Bacchus

Now ruptured by the cackles and caws of jackals and hyenas
Blood has been spilled
And they mean to feast too

gemini and virgo

you're a gemini
and i'm a dashing virgo
together we shine

we're from the same town
a lovely place by the sea
where we shared mem'ries

we're bonded by fate
long before we've seen daylight
as etched on our palms

by one stroke of fate
star-cross'd lovers as we are
we drifted apart

seems like eons of a lifetime
our love transcends space and time
nothing has changed, except our age

back then I just wished
I had given you a red rose
instead of violets

who knew about flowers
we were both young and naive
but Venus knew best

back in each other's arms
we vowed to love each other
more than ever

although I'm an earth sign
and incompatible with yours
our intellect is common

our spectrums differ
yet we share the same vision:
harmony and peace

I'm a technocrat
and you are a bureaucrat
your beauty rock my world!

Cancerian And Virgo

Two Men.......both Virgos,
True But strange,
When they both enters,
In my Life with Fame.

My self being a cancerian,
A woman of Moods,
Though some sensitive....
but kind and caring.

And they....dont know How to Love,
But their way of expressing is different from others.
But Yes, they are dedicated....
Towards their family and friends.

And being a cancerian.....
I will never make the first moves in a relationship,
This is because of two reasons,
My shyness and my fear of being rejected.

And For Them....
Quality of time spent will mean more than the quantity,
He is usually very cautious while forming a relationship,
A little bit of sensuality, mixed with some intelligence.

Being a cancerian, I am extremely loyal ,
and will keep them happy with my warm and rich humor.
And being a virgo, their Love is clean, innocent and pure,
though it may take some time to win.

Repeat the Broken Lovers

“He won’t be coming back”,
I keep on telling her, over and over
But it’s like screaming a mantra
At one who cannot hear.
She lies wasting away,
From the Cancer that wracks
Her body into submission.
A hospital gown hanging off her bony frame
A sign that not even Panancea
Could heal her now and that
The end is slowly drawing near.

But she will hear none of it,
Never letting her delusions of
Star-crossed lovers and soul bonding
Leave her mind. She carries
A love for him that reaches
The point of insanity,
Believing without question
That he will return to her
With a rose in hand, spouting off
Limericks about her beauty
And epic poems about their
Destiny together. That isn’t him though.
Well, not entirely. He is a Gemini
Through and through, always searching
For one thing or another,
Flighty and indecisive, never settling
On just one thing, one person,
Including her, but she cannot see it.
She simply wants him to come back
And complete her, two parts of the same sign,
Coming together to be whole
Once again, even if it the time to be had
Is short and fleeting.

I sigh in frustration,
Then move to grasp her hand,
But a sound at the door
Cuts the motion short.
That same man, who has caused
More than his share of grief and
Pain enters timidly. He has
No roses in his hands, and
No sweet words tumble from his mouth
But my lips curl into a small smile
Despite my reservations. I suppose
That there is an upside
To that man’s indecisiveness,
He may always decide to
Come on back into her arms,
And make them both feel whole again.
