i've gone at least
a million times before
but this time
it looks a little different
through such drunk eyes
the street lights
that are just passer byes
danced as if to tell me
i shouldn't partake
in things like southern comfort
because i live in new york
and i'm ever anything
but comfortable
right now
i've never been so
on edge
so we had to share the car
because somewhere inside this strange house
to far away from mine
are the sleeping children
of an underage mother
i'll spare you those details
so when we got done
she said i was great
and he tossed me a dime
like i should be paid
for these sort of things
10 in the morning
i finally crawl
back into my bed.
he comes in
and must smell it on me
he says
he can feel it in me
but i don't believe
that is true.
then the ending is all tpo predictable
just like it always is
he shouts
i say nothing
but he still doesn't leave.
