Poetry Contest Description
Hi Guys, welcome to the comp.
Write a short piece entitled …. And that’s how the fight started.
Any subject you like, no rules, no entry limit.
Here’s an example
One year, I decided to buy my mother-in-law a cemetery plot as
a Christmas gift...
The next year, I didn't buy her a gift.
When she asked me why, I replied,
"Well, you still haven't used the gift I bought you last year!"
And that's how the fight started.....

Embryonic flotsam adrift,
Riding the tides of womb.
Darkened void within the rift
Where life or death consume.
Bleeding, beating, weathered cruelly,
Feeding, eating, tethered buoy.
Churning in fetal stew.
Suddenly rejected,
An involuntary turbulence.
New world neglected,
Overwhelming sensory disturbance.
So begins the stillborn sojourn.
And that is how the fight started.

All I had said
was that word on the street had it
there was an extra pair of legs
on the corner last night
and that one of the said legs
had a small tattoo of a dragon
halfway between the giggle band
and the hem of the knickers
having never laid eyes on the said legs
I had no idea of the rage
that was building up inside him
so can't really be blamed
for adding
that I might take a trip out there tonight
because I heard she can suck
a golf ball
through a garden hose.
