Love
Love He Sought
Love he sought
Fought, fraught, and beset upon on all sides
By the wolves of best manners
Nice guys finish last
His memories love to remind him
Driving home their point like a bag of hammers
Carnivorous of her soul
Putting the lives of all others on hold behind him
The attention of this clarion jewel defines him
A queen without the need of a crown
A king for the fact that she sits down
On the throne beside him
And outshines, without the least need of polish,
All those others
Now simply semi-precious in comparison
She astonishes him with her rapt attention and adoration
Her intelligence and admiration of a craft she so deftly performs
She speaks and spills
Her deepest wishes and wills him
To join her in what he thought was a dream of his
Standing there, hand outstretched
An invitation much too welcome to ponder
And they descend onto a bed
Tying ribbons 'round their wrists
As their alchemy persists
'Til their lilac words evolve into adamant promises
Above, beyond, and in-between
Now official, this royal decree
Rules and barriers shatter at their slightest touch
A heavy din rises and announces them again
Reborn from their lives before
They now stand
Or should I say 'lay'?
As lovers bound with unbreakable bonds,
Adamant promises,
Lilac words,
and sweet, frequent, meaningful kisses
Love he sought

trying to glean every little detail
Hoping to find a loophole
and in digging through all this mental paperwork
I see your name signed at the bottom of every page
right next to mine
Suddenly I think
all the rest can wait until tomorrow
and I steal a kiss from the cold

Natural Skeptic
Romance and true love...
I remain skeptic about it,
Why?
It requires opening up
To someone that won't be
there forever.
Of course solitude hounds me
but I'm ok with that
How come?
Because I hate tearful goodbyes.
So what's the point?
But then again...
What do I know
I've never had someone to
Kiss or embrace me.

My heart beats faster when I'm with you
My mind is always on you
You are the only thing I think about
I only want to spend time with you
You are the one who comes into my dreams when I sleep
I don't know what happened to me
What is this feeling?

My body is hot and cold...
It's so dark...
I feel like I'm sinking...
When he saved me...
...I wonder if I thanked him properly...
He was really worried about me and scolded me out of concern.
He protected me.
I've never taken the trouble to broaden my world...
but he's been broadening it without my notice.
I see...
I did'nt love him all of a sudden.
Maybe the emotion that's been building inside me all this time isn't admiration...
I'm still too wordly and have so much to learn.
So even if what I feel is love...
...It's too much for me to deal with right now.

When I walk
I sleep
I recall your voice
I try to keep
its talk
so sweet
I just can't wait
to meet
the apple maid
in the valley
of an offbeat
to stray
down your one way
street
come what may
we can stand elite
there is no pay
its all for free

in eternity
love light pools
on a solar kissed tree

To keep the roof over our head

Please understand I'm not used to long term
Be a good teacher and I promise I'll learn
Do right by me and show me the way
The prize will be worth it if you continue to let me stay
