Disillusioned

May time treat you better than it has me.
AllthemomentsIhave
wantedtokeepslip
awaytosoon.

And the moments
that
are
a

seemingly

personal

hell,

seem to last eternally.

Don't allow your mind
to play tricks on you
as I mine has played.
Abuse the moments you have;
take your time when you
are in a hurry. Burst
into a sprint run on a
Sunday afternoon, whilst
sitting around drinking
iced tea.
Finally, don't let time
dictate your situation. You
simply exist in the frame
of mind and time that you
choose.

Lonely Lullaby

She's holding tight
She's closed her eyes
She cannot fight -
This lonely lullaby

She cannot move
She cannot lie
Its holding tight
Her lonely lullaby

The sound of the clock
That's ticking on
Is begging her to run
Now that the light is gone
And night has overtaken the sun

But she remains
Standing and waiting still
Beneath a starless sky
With a heart that's begun to fill
With a lonely lullaby

Tears are falling down her face
In the aging night
She prays for him to be found
Come morning light
She hopes to see him safe and sound

She's holding tight
She's closed her eyes
She will fight
This lonely lullaby

She'll be alright
She will fly
Within the night
To her lonely lullaby

You are absolutely right, Rachel. The poems are all so good that they really have to be read repeatedly to decide which one wins. I am enjoying them though:

Congratulations to the winners of this competition: all your poems were fantastic. I loved them all. Paul, your poem of a ghostly figure that still waits captured me. Miss Sub's poem depicting some one who waits in her heart is beautifully poignantly sad. Lee's poem on someone waiting for a lost loved one to be found is worth many reads. Judging this competition was hard: but enjoyable. It was an honour to have all of you here. Thank You!!
