Indexing Irises

There's a band
of red
touched
by some yellow
the day is nearly dead
it glows
against the hollow
she's my flexible friend
all birds
they love to wallow
atmospheric , extend
right through
to tomorrow .

Horses
in the field
new dawnings
are to be
picked out
spectrum hills
adorned
by daffodills .

I look
and I find this
my eyes a book
indexing , irises
looking up
to a higher place
but I'm stuck
by my fireplace
I bid you luck
finding your
happy place .

March, under the tropical sky

Mid-March and the days are long
The sky brighter than blue
In the eastern sky
The sun gloriously shines
Merciless in its giving
Engulfing the world
In its heated embrace
Under the shades of the palm trees
Waving the cool into my face
I see no end nor surcease
To the hot and heat of the tropical day
I long for night to close
Its curtain against the day’s glare
And twilight to gently sway
The breath of gentle zephyr
And cool me as I lay
On this matt under the palm trees
There is no betrayal
Parallel to  the ides of March
But of my heart which longs
For the cool of an occidental sky.

Earths Emotions

As I sit here
feeling overgrown
I can hear
sleeping thoughts unfold
and blowing near
is all fear
as gravity fights to keep hold
the tears of the wind
can be felt through it's groan
all the souls that have sinned
can be heard howling alone .

Picking up force
proving it's around
showing no remorse
through full strength
and ghostly sound
an element in course
a planet spinning around
a lunar full of flaws
trying not to be pulled down .

Each day we fight the seconds
with each tick
the end does beckon
our lives flick
like pages unsettled
death does kick
our boiling life kettles
as we battle on with it .
