Poetry Contest

Fashion shows, supermodels, ramp-walk, wardrobe malfunctions, stardom, Page-3 gossips about the fashion designers...I want all of you to compose free verse or rhymic poems based upon your observations or perception on the subject.
Now that I have completed two of my latest compositions on the fashion world, and is ready with my poem Raught-Caught for your read I just made it an idea to run a contest of the same name.

I will entertain one entry per poet and the winner which will be only one poet, I will like to compose one of my recent works based upon an Indian fashion model with him/ her.

So only poets willing to work with me on such a subject and taking this contest in a very professional manner can enter.

Sounds Strange? I wan this time something different.

I will declare my winner on 31st Aug 2011, as these one and half-moth I will celebrate my fashion poetry week with some of my works on the same subject.

Welcome to you all.

confessions of an underwear model

it's not all fun and games no more
the thought of eating is stressful
a salad is so hard to carry
from the stomach to the toilet
who knows if it all comes out
and the taste of recycled tomato
in itself seems somewhat fattening

well at least now i got the cover
good head to stay ahead, thats me
do what you can to who you can
and the work will always follow
never give the boss a chance
though its a salty pill to swallow

after in the white room party
we all play with smoke and powder
and throw a jealous eye across
the latest girl who makes the cut
the one with scratches on her knees
and bends over back to please.

It saddens me that we're only allowed one entry... so reluctantly I remove my last entry and enter this one I write later on, with the feel I didn't do it justice, being a bit of a designer myself an amatuer one at that here is my take of a dress I once I caught a glimpse of and edited to fit my style, I havn't gotten around to making it yet but this is how I wish it would be displayed.

Take it in... take it in...

Bows to a corset style gown
Four piece skirt, lined in black
With white strands of cotton cloth
Dangling down
All around, at different lengths,
A bow residing in the center, black
With dimante' glued in the middle
And two 3 inch" white buttons line each side
Keeping it together, sinfully tragic
And the lines of lace across the front
This zipless piece breaks all boundaries
With black cotton stiched along the torso
And white for all the rest
But the back resides more beautiful than in the front
With cross straps in the center of straight straps
And shoulders short, of lace, with a harsh copper stud on each
Creating the modern feel
And my own designer touch
The manequin looks as if strangled beneath
My creation, a mere masterpiece
My boss will sure be loving me
I can surely see it now, with plush grey angel wings
And nude shade stillettos
A model tall, and busty, curves taking control
And breaking all boundaries, of stick figures
Moving like lego men, but I know the company wont go for it...
So I'll just take it in... take it in... take it in...
Along with my dreams, and my imaged result
Take it in... with my pride
Take it in... for the world
Take it in... no I can't take it in
I shall have to start from scratch *sigh*

The word describing luxury and elegance,
Is today serving a substitute for disgraceful appearance.
Dressed head to heels in tattered and torn,
With cloths and shoes that are totally out of worn,
Hairs cut in all shorts of crazy styles,
And face covered with colorful gogs and smiles,
This slovenliness now a days is called fashion,

Stomp the walk

You are the face of girlhood dreams
Fairy and feral;  animal and sublime
To her, beauty is in her figure
To you, beauty is in your mind

Turn and step among the angels
They'll eat you alive if you're not true
Dance between submission and power
Some designer will make a muse out of you

Stomp the walk in signature fashion
Become Milan's latest craze
Behind violet eyes is an attitude
And those that see it will be amazed

well anando , this is on the lines of basically being famous with lots of various things involved but also it's a question as to what would you like out of this world ?

Options   (SP S ummerscales)

Rolling jackpot heavens
living a fruit machine existence
on lucky sevens.
Chocolate fingers linger
on farcical cards that are dealt
in the end they just melt.

Casinos
ballrooms
big picture scenes
blood money owned limousines .
Fit into the lamp
revamp
the genie
immerse yourself
over the worlds obscenity.

Spin the world backwards
plant redwood
in californian backyards.
Walk across the atlantic
behave somewhat a little frantic
in insane poses
mimic the biblical moses.

Two beams of gleaming , scorching
emerald vision
cutting through the haziness
making two beams of choice
incision
the stake
which one would you take .

Spend your life unconsciously
in a silk disguised bed
dreaming of flotation
on a magic carpet thats red.
Deepen your ocular recesses
move around furtively
wearing sunglasses.

Stop light cities
big leather handbag kitties.
Lewd atmosphere
on the western hemisphere .
Budding starlets
scarlet tarnished
harlots.
Gamble on the index
gesticulate its reflex
then bow
have another go
on the Nikkei Dow.

Risk all of your sentimentalities
your precious stones
what for I say
in response you hear
for a go on the Dow Jones.

Great entry and very intelligent one Paul...Can you compose for me outside this contest a poem with exactly opposite sentiments than this one?

Ok Anando , her goes

One Way Straight   (SP Summerscales)

If the book of safe
was what we printed
life a slow lane
perfect coins minted
with a definate way
to all that ever glinted
planning your way
in a car that never dinted .

Would we be
to ourselves
a liberty
living off shelves
completely dust free .

No chances taken
no such thing
as eggs and bacon
regimented
never shaken
careful walks
with no legs breaking
no one talks
and no forsaking
wine free corks
and no law breaking .

So no choices
really to be made
would we be rejoicing
holding hands and singing
church bells ringing
happy , hooray
birthday days .
